The present invention provides devices for the oral or nasal inhalation of finely divided materials such as medicinal agents and drugs.

Inhalation devices

A device for dispensing an aerosol from an aerosol module containing aerosol under pressure wherein there is a cocking device for readying it for release of the pressurized aerosol, a sear for retaining the cocking device in a non-operative position following readying and a vane operable by inhalation on the part of a user to disable the sear to thus release the cocking device to effect expulsion of aerosol from the aerosol module. The cocking device further includes a recocking member that is automatically releasable at the end of the discharge cycle to permit a valve in the module to return to its disabled position and ensure complete refilling of a metering chamber.

A device for vaporizing a fluid desired to be introduced into the air by forcibly moving air over the surfaces of an absorptive material which has been impregnated with the fluid desired to be distributed. The device comprises a housing adapted to be attached to a wall or other surface and utilizes a liquid material contained within a hollow container which is so positioned within the housing that the liquid flows into a cup-like member within which a layer of the absorptive material is disposed. The cup-like member includes at least one opening over which air is caused to pass and thereby evaporate the liquid from the absorptive material. A battery powered fan is so positioned as to cause the air to flow past the opening in the cup member and thereby evaporate some of the vaporizable fluid. The entire assembly is contained within a housing which has an air inlet and an air plus vapor outlet, and includes means for properly positioning the several elements in the proper relationship. Also included are indicating means for visually determining the quantity of the vaporizable fluid remaining in the container, and indicating means for showing battery failure, both indicating means being arranged to provide an externally visible indication thereby precluding the need to open the housing to determine fluid quantity or battery failure.

A deodorant dispenser of the kind comprising a receptacle containing a pad impregnated with a deodorant material wherein the receptacle is provided with relatively rotatable top parts containing openings which on the one hand may be aligned by rotation of the parts and on the other hand positioned to be partially or completely out of alignment.

A pouch for retaining an article therein including overlying plastic sheets that are secured together to form an interior pocket therebetween, a light-weight, flexible sheet of metal material being captured in the pocket, the plastic sheets and metal sheet captured therebetween being bent along a longitudinal axis approximately at the midpoint thereof so that the opposed longitudinal edges of one of the plastic sheets are located in engaging relation, a rigid end cap being joined to a plastic sheet at an end thereof to define a closed end of the pouch, and the end of the sheets opposite to the end cap being exposed to define an open end for receiving an article in the pouch.
