A power vent is disclosed including a housing assembly having a base and a cylindrical, open ended shroud joined to the base and within which is supported a fan assembly. A wire frame is molded into the inner peripheral surface of the shroud to reinforce the shroud and also provide a bracket for supporting the motor of the fan assembly. A molded plastic hood including hood support brackets is securable to the shroud so that the assembly may be employed as a roof vent. In another embodiment, the base of the housing may be shaped to receive a louver assembly and the assembly may be used as a gable end vent.

Connectors are provided to connect adjacent roof ridge ventilator sections. The connectors include a cutout, intermediate wall, an outer jacket and an inner sleeve defining slot to receive the ends of adjacent ventilator sections.

The connectors include a cutout, intermediate wall, an outer jacket and inner sleeve defining slots to receive the ends of adjacent ventilator sections. The end caps include a deflectable wall having a central depression and bulge. An outer end cap jacket and inner end cap sleeve define a channel to receive the end of the ventilator assembly.

End cap and connectors for roof ridge ventilator

A multistation roll form machine for forming an article of complex shape such as a roof ridge vent having integral dams along the inner lateral edges of the ventilation panels includes a longitudinally extending support frame, a first group of individual roll forming stations, a lancing subassembly and a second group of individual roll forming stations. Each of the individual stations includes upper and lower roller die sets for continuously and progressively bending the stock material as it is fed through the machine. The first group of roll forming stations progressively bends the stock on itself to form dam portions integral with the lateral edges of the ventilation panels. The lancing subassembly positioned immediately downstream of the first group of individual stations, includes two pairs of outer and inner lancing rolls having teeth formed around their circumferences which lance the stock to form the ventilation openings. The second group of forming stations in conjunction with a pair of progressively angled, longitudinally extending support bars, bend the stock to its final, predetermined cross-sectional shape. The method includes the steps of progressively bending the stock to form double bend portions of the stock lancing areas of the stock to form openings and then progressively bending the lanced stock into the final complex, cross-sectional shape.

Method and equipment for roll forming products of complex shape

An improved roof ridge ventilator is provided having a peaked hood, descending sidewalls, horizontally extending panels and a dam arrangement defined by a vertically extending, reversed bent inner sidewall. Flashing sections are integral with the inner sidewalls. A plurality of rows of vent passages are formed in the panels. Each row of these passages is hooded by oppositely disposed, alternating offset straps. Vent passages are provided along the outer edge of the panels and are partially covered by downwardly and inwardly inclined baffles.
