Magneto Power Generator has a magneto with a shaft mounted secondary pulley connected to a centrifugal clutch, a belt spanning from the secondary pulley to a primary pulley, the primary pulley fitting to an axle, a transformer, an inverter, and related wiring. The magneto has electrical communication through the transformer, then through the inverter, and to the battery of a vehicle. The primary pulley and the secondary pulley have a ratio of diameters for optimal current generation at moderately steady voltage. The centrifugal clutch disengages the secondary pulley when the vehicle goes into reverse. The grounded magneto produces alternating current transformed and inverted to direct current suitable for the vehicle's battery.

In some examples, a technique for forming a partially densified preform including ceramic particles may include mixing a densifying agent with metal oxide particles or metal oxide precursor to form a blended densifying agent, infiltrating the blended densifying agent in to a porous preform, pyrolyzing the infiltrated preform to convert the densifying agent to carbon and form a partially densified preform, and heat treating the partially densified preform to react at least some of the carbon with the metal oxide particles to form ceramic particles. Composite materials formed from porous preforms in which a blended densifying agent is disposed in pores of the preform are also described.

Composite materials including ceramic particles and methods of forming the same

A ceramic body based on barium and strontium titanates has a composition defined essentially by the formula Ba.sub.1-x Sr.sub.x TiO.sub.3, where x ranges from 0 to 1. The ceramic body is chemically and dimensionally stable in solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) operation environments, which encounter oxidizing and reducing atmospheres at temperatures as high as 1,000.degree. C. In addition, the ceramic of which the body is comprised can be tailored to yield a ceramic in which the thermal expansion coefficient (CTE) is adjusted between 11.3.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. and 12.4.times.10.sup.-6 /.degree.C. to match the CTE of the other SOFC materials, thereby avoiding the adverse effects of thermal stress. These features make the ceramic body especially suited for use as manifolds in SOFC stacks, or other non-electrical structural components, such as the inflow and outflow gas manifold materials, the stack housing, or other support structure or spacers in the stack, and the like.
