The assembly comprises a gate mechanism housing, a shaft driving motor, an adaptor, and fasteners. The housing includes a bore having an inner dimension and a housing fastener connection. The shaft driving motor has a motor shaft and a motor fastener connection. The adaptor comprises a housing fastener passage, a motor fastener passage, and a central protrusion. The central protrusion has an outer dimension aligned with the inner dimension of the bore and a central shaft passage accommodating the motor shaft of the shaft driving motor. A first fastener secures the adaptor to the shaft driving motor via the motor fastener passage and the motor fastener connection. A second fastener secures the adaptor to the housing via the housing fastener passage and the housing fastener connection.

The carrier housing has a carrier support mating with a receiving bore of the mechanism housing. The carrier housing has multiple flange fasteners aligning with housing fasteners and housing surfaces of the mechanism housing when the carrier housing mates with the receiving bore. Multiple discrete fasteners are removed from a first group of the flange fasteners aligned with the housing fasteners. The carrier assembly is displaced from the mechanism housing in response to inserting the plurality of discrete fasteners to a second group of the plurality of flange fasteners aligned with the plurality of housing surfaces.

The control PCB to receive an output based on an angular position of the gate arm as a position indication to have the control PCB provide an output for the operation of the gate arm.

There are disclosed apparatuses and methods for removal of a shaft bearing from a gate crossing mechanism. A bearing support includes support apertures and is positioned about the shaft bearing. A bearing ring includes ring apertures. A bearing tool includes keys in which each key has a shape allowing insertion through a ring aperture and a support aperture. The bearing tool shifts each key inward toward the shaft bearing. The bearing ring is rotated in a circular direction relative to the keys. The bearing tool withdraws the shaft bearing from the bearing support.

The present invention pertains to a low-maintenance bladder actuator for a low-profile railroad retarder. The actuator has an internal guide mechanism and internal limit stops. The guide mechanism has a concentric, telescoping guide rod and guide sleeve that are removably bolted to upper and lower plates. An integral cast head forms the upper plate and a stop sleeve that absorbs the cyclical 20,000 pound loads of the actuator. This enables the guide rod to remain concentricly aligned. The guide mechanism has sufficient stroke length (S) and includes a long internal bushing with a low wear rate. The stop sleeve engages the lower plate to form the lower limit stop. The stop sleeve includes an inwardly extending flange that engages an outwardly extending flange of the guide sleeve to form an upper limit stop. The stop sleeve and guide sleeve form a cam lock connection for easy assembly.
