A method includes determining a type of controller used by an electronic device and determining a connector configuration of the electronic device. The method further includes selectively cutting one or more wires of a ribbon cable of a user interface circuit in response to determining the type of controller to configure the user interface circuit for operation with the type of controller.

Field-configurable user interface circuit and method of installation

In an embodiment, a circuit device includes a network interface responsive to a powered network to receive a power supply and data and includes an electrical isolation barrier adapted to define a non-isolated power domain and an isolated power domain. The circuit device further includes a first control circuit associated with the non-isolated power domain. The first control circuit is coupled to a primary winding of a transformer to control current flow via the primary winding. The circuit device also includes a second control circuit associated with the isolated power domain. The second control circuit is coupled to a secondary winding of the transformer and is adapted to detect a power error associated with the secondary winding. The second control circuit transfers a command across the electrical isolation barrier to the first control circuit to adjust a current at the primary winding in response to detecting the power error.

In one embodiment, the present invention includes an operational amplifier having a first input to receive a first current formed of an input current and an offset current. A first MOSFET device having a gate terminal may be coupled to an output of the operational amplifier. An output stack including one or more cascoded devices to provide an output current corresponding to a gain of the operational amplifier may be coupled to a first terminal of the first MOSFET device. The operational amplifier may be used in various circuitry, such as a subscriber line interface circuit (SLIC).

In a particular embodiment, a circuit device includes a first die coupled to a circuit substrate and having a substantially planar surface. The first die includes electrical contacts distributed on the substantially planar surface adjacent to at least three edges of the first die. The circuit device further includes a second die attached to the substantially planar surface of the first die. The second die is rotated by an offset angle about an axis relative to the first die. The offset angle is selected to allow horizontal and vertical access to the electrical contacts.

In one embodiment, the present invention includes a regulator having a pulse width modulation (PWM) controller to generate a PWM control signal based on a voltage level of a load coupled to the regulator, a driver to provide a drive signal to a switching element of the regulator responsive to the PWM control signal, and a power saver coupled between the PWM controller and the driver to receive the PWM control signal and to output the PWM control signal to the driver at a reduced rate during an idle mode of the load.

A telephone subscriber line interface circuit includes a first circuit portion and a second circuit portion, a first battery voltage and a second battery input for receiving a second battery voltage. The second circuit portion is coupled to the second battery input. The telephone subscriber line interface circuit further includes a switch for coupling the first circuit portion to one of the first battery input and the second battery input.
