An exhaust mixer for a gas turbine engine includes an annular wall having upstream end adapted to be fastened to an engine case and a downstream end forming a plurality of inner and outer mixer lobes. A support member interconnects at least a number of the inner lobes, and includes a circumferentially extending stiffener ring located radially inwardly from the inner lobes and a series of circumferentially spaced apart mixer struts radially extending from the inner lobes to the stiffener ring. The mixer struts have a radial length at least equal to a width of a main gas path defined between the inner lobes and the exhaust cone such that the mixer struts extend entirely through the main gas path. The stiffener ring being fixed solely to the mixer struts such as to float with respect to the exhaust cone and permit relative movement therebetween.

In an integrated strut and turbine vane nozzle (ISV) configuration, lug/slot or tag/groove arrangements may be provided between an interturbine duct (ITD) of the ISV and a vane ring of the ISV such that struts of the ITD and associated vanes are angularly positioned to form integrated strut-vane airfoils, reducing mismatch at the integration.

Integrated strut and vane arrangements

A seal arrangement for segmented turbine components comprises a sealing strip and a resilient cord element compressed against the strip to provide positive loading of the strip against the segment sealing faces. The sealing strip and the resilient cord element are engaged in confronting cavities defined in the end faces of adjacent segments. The resilient cord element is commonly held by both segments in a compressed state against the sealing strip.

Seal arrangement for segmented gas turbine engine components

A turbine exhaust case for a gas turbine engine has an outer shroud and an inner shroud concentrically defining therebetween an annular gaspath for channelling hot gases. A plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart turbine exhaust struts extends radially across the hot gaspath. The inner shroud may be provided in the form of an acoustic panel. The acoustic panel has a radially outwardly facing surface defining the radially inner flow boundary surface of the gaspath. The acoustic panel is mechanically fastened to the radially inner end of the struts.

Gas turbine exhaust case with acoustic panels

A turbine exhaust case comprises inner and outer annular shrouds defining therebetween an annular hot gaspath. A circumferential array of exhaust struts extends across the gaspath. The exhaust struts are mounted at one radial end thereof on a flexible strut mounting structure. The flexible strut mounting structure is radially deflectable relative to the outer and inner shrouds to accommodate thermal expansion of the exhaust struts during engine operation.

Strut mounting arrangement for gas turbine exhaust case

A vane structure of a gas turbine engine includes a plurality of vanes extending radially between outer and inner shrouds. At least the outer shroud is formed substantially from a single-piece annular skin of sheet metal. A plurality of reinforcing plates are placed against and are affixed to an outer surface of the skin of the outer shroud in respective joining locations where a radial outer end of each of the respective vanes joins the skin.

Fabricated gas turbine duct

A turbine exhaust case for a turbofan engine comprises a plurality of arcuate acoustic panels assembled into a circumferentially extending inner shroud with circumferential gaps between adjacent acoustic panels. An outer shroud extends circumferentially about the inner shroud. The inner shroud and the outer shroud define an annular gaspath therebetween. A plurality of circumferentially spaced-apart exhaust struts extends radially across the annular gaspath and structurally connects the individual acoustic panels forming the inner shroud to the outer shroud.
