Base compositions for silicone compositions with viscosity &#x3c;500,000 mPas are continuously produced by, in a first stage, homogeneously mixing and kneading organopolysiloxanes (A) and prehydrophobized oxidic reinforcing fillers (B) in a continuous kneading cascade with kneading chambers arranged alongside one another, and in a second downstream stage, the compositions produced in the first stage of the process are subjected to aftertreatment in a mixing apparatus where the compositions have been subjected to a mixing procedure with introduction of shear force.

A polyorganosiloxane containing the units (HR Si&mdash;O ) HM units, (Si&mdash;O ) Q units, (R Si&mdash;O ) T units and (R Si&mdash;O ) D units in a ratio of from 2:1:0:0 to 6:4:2:2, or (HR Si&mdash;O ) HM units, (R Si&mdash;O ) T units, (R Si&mdash;O ) D units and (R (R O)Si&mdash;O ) in a ratio HM:T:D:alkoxyM of from 1:2:0:0 to 3:4:2:2 is described, where R are identical or different, non-halogenated or halogenated hydrocarbon radicals having from 1 to 18 carbon atoms per radical, or are OR , where R is a monovalent, unsubstituted or substituted hydrocarbon radical having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and in each molecule there are at least 3 Si-bonded hydrogen atoms. The polyorganosiloxanes are particularly useful as crosslinking agents in addition curable elastomer formulations.
