Systems and methods of bun handling include a cassette with opposed side walls. The cassette includes a front wall, an open rear face opposite the front wall, and a floor between the opposed side walls. A cover extends between the opposed side walls above the floor. The cover is movable relative to the opposed side walls and the floor. A slot is defined through the floor from the open rear face in a direction towards the front wall.

A bagel slicer includes a frame. A pusher assembly translates along a slicing path within the frame between an open position and a sliced position. At least one blade is positioned within the slicing path. Movement of the pusher assembly along the slicing path from the open position to the sliced position translates a bagel along the slicing path about the at least one blade to slice the bagel. Movement of the pusher assembly along the slicing path from the sliced position to the open position returns the sliced bagel to the open position of the pusher assembly.

Slicer

A bun separator separates pre-sliced buns into portions. A bun feeder receives a pre-sliced bun having a plurality of portions and moves the pre-sliced bun along a first feed path. An obstruction is arranged relative to the first feed path and engages at least one portion of the plurality of portions of the pre-sliced bun. An actuator operates to selectively engage at least one portion of the plurality of portions of the pre-sliced bun against the obstruction to separate the least one portion of the pre-sliced bun and transfer the at least one portion to a second feed path.

A baked goods handling system includes a holding cabinet operable to create a controlled environment therein. A dispenser receives a baked good from the holding cabinet and directs the baked good away from the holding cabinet. A treatment device receives the baked good from the dispenser to perform a treatment on the baked good.

Systems and methods of bun holding and toasting use a bun dispenser and a toaster. The bun dispenser includes a bun holding cabinet in which a plurality of buns are held on shelves and each of the shelves include conveyors. A shuttle of the bun dispenser translates within at least one axis to align the shuttle with a shelf to receive a bun. A dispensing shelf of the bun dispenser receives the bun from the shuttle. A toaster receives the bun from the dispensing shelf and operates to toast the bun and dispense the toasted bun at a predetermined location.

A tamper-evident food delivery packaging systems, methods of tamper-evident packaging of food for delivery, and apparatus for tamper-evident food packaging operate to form resilient self-fastening perforations through a packaging. A binding apparatus includes an anvil and a flipper plate. A cutter head includes a profile blade and a slot blade. A pusher is pivotably connected between the profile blade and the slot blade. The cutting apparatus moves in a reciprocal motion relative to the anvil while the flipper plate engages a pusher to pivot the pusher during the reciprocal motion.

A baked good holding cabinet includes a compartment and provides a controlled environment within the compartment. A tray is configured to receive a plurality of baked goods and to be received within the compartment to hold the plurality of baked goods in the controlled environment. A cabinet actuator is operable to move a baked good within the cabinet to a dispense point of the cabinet.

Packaging dispensers are configured to retain various types of packaging in which prepared food items are placed prior to delivery to a customer. The packaging dispensers retain a plurality of a packaging type as a supply of the packages. The packaging dispensers facilitate withdrawal of a single package from the supply of the packages.

A conveyor belt system provides a continuous flat support surface for a food item that moves the food item through a food preparation device. The conveyor belt system includes a conveyor belt having a plurality of spaced apart rods and a plurality of slats that are removably attached to the conveyor belt with a rod connection mechanism. The slats also include a lateral connection mechanism for lateral removable attachment to an adjacent slat. The slats are easily assembled and provide enhanced field service and/or replacement capability.

In one embodiment, the conveyor belt link for a conveyor belt assembly comprises a base for carrying an item, the base having a first end, a second end, a first linking member projecting from the base, and a second linking member projecting from the base. The first end of the base terminates at a first angle (relative to a horizontal axis), the second end terminates at a second angle (relative to the horizontal axis), and the first and second angles of the ends are substantially supplementary. The first linking member comprises one of a cylinder and a channel and the second linking member comprises the other of the cylinder and the channel.
