A system and process for the recovery of ethylene and propylene from a gas stream, such as a refinery offgas stream. The process comprises withdrawing, cooling, and recovering an overhead vapor stream from a single distillation column. The process includes withdrawing a liquid C,&plus;, C,&plus;, C,&plus; or C,&plus; bottoms product stream and recycling a portion of the bottoms steam to maintain an overhead column condenser at temperature refrigeration levels of above &minus;140&deg; F. and withdrawing a vapor side stream rich in propylene or ethylene-propylene.

System and process for the recovery of propylene and ethylene from refinery offgases

A method for the distillative separation of hydrocarbon feed stream such as a carbon dioxide-containing feed stream in a single distillation column into a vapor carbon dioxide product stream and a side column product stream such as a liquid propane stream employing a recycled C4+ bottom additive stream. The method comprises: Introducing a feed stream into a single cryogenic distillation column; withdrawing a C4+ bottom additive stream from the bottom of the column; recycling the C4+ stream into the single column above the feed point of the feed stream, and withdrawing from a side point in the column above the introduction of the feed stream a vapor product stream enriched in C3+, and cooling the vapor stream to produce a C3 liquid product stream.

Single column distillative separation employing bottom additives

The process for the recovery of light hydrocarbon fractions from off-gases derived from the transfer of petroleum material, particularly from a marine loading operation. One process comprises introducing the off-gases containing a light hydrocarbon fraction to be recovered into a refrigerated absorbent column through a liquid ring compressor, employing as a motive fluid a heavy hydrocarbon fraction, recovering a bottom stream from the absorber column having the heavy oil and the light hydrocarbon fraction, then venting an overhead air stream with a low total hydrocarbon content. The process also includes an integrated process for the recovery of light hydrocarbon fractions from off-gases and includes, in addition to a refrigerated absorber column, a recovery stripper column for the removal of the light hydrocarbon fraction from the bottom liquid of the absorber column and the recovery and recycling of a heavy hydrocarbon fraction for use in the absorber column and with the liquid ring compressor. The return of non-condensibles to the liquid ring compressor, both the absorber and the absorber recovery process systems provide for an efficient, low-cost and effective process for the recovery of light hydrocarbon fraction from marine off-gases.

Process for the recovery of a light hydrocarbon fraction from marine

A process by which a vapor side product stream is taken from the bottom section of a cryogenic distillation column, such as a propane or ethane recovery column, which process optionally employs a nonpolar liquid additive for use in the separation of acid gases from a hydrocarbon feed stream. The withdrawal of the vapor side stream prevents the build-up of water in the column which would ordinarily lead to free-water formation or the formation of solid hydrates in the cryogenic distillation column.

A recycle process for the separation of landfill gas containing a wide variety of impurities into a carbon dioxide product stream and a fuel-grade-pressurized methane product stream, the process providing for the removal of both the impurities and the carbon dioxide in a cryogenic column as a bottom stream, the separation of the methane from the overhead product stream by a membrane process, and, optionally, the removal of impurities from the carbon dioxide bottom stream in a separate purification column, to recover a high-quality, liquid, carbon dioxide stream.
