A coating/drying device including a first application device, a second application device and a drying device. The first application device for applying application medium to a first side of a fiber material web, moving in a running direction. The second application device for applying application medium to a second side of the fiber material web, the second side being opposite the first side. The second application device being an application device operating without contacting the fiber material web. The drying device is arranged downstream of the first application device and the second application device in the running direction of the fiber material web.

Device for coating and drying both sides of a material web of paper or board

A machine for one of producing and treating, and separately treating a material web including a material web dispensing device, at least one application apparatus, a drying device, a processing device and a material web smoothing device. The material web dispensing device dispenses a material web continuously. The at least one application apparatus is arranged along a material web path after the material web dispensing device. The application apparatus applies a liquid or a pasty application medium to at least one side of the web as it moves along the material web path. The at least one application apparatus including at least one contactless application unit discharging the application medium as a free application medium jet, an application medium curtain, an application medium veil or an application medium droplet spray. The at least one contactless application unit applying the application medium to the material web on the basis of forces imparted to the application medium, movement impulses imparted to the application medium or movement of the application medium induced by the force of gravity. The drying device is arranged along the material web path after the application apparatus. The drying device drying the moving material web to a drying state. The processing device is arranged along the material web path after the drying device. The processing device at least processing, picking up and/or discharging the web. The material web smoothing device is positioned along the material web path either before or after the application apparatus.

Machine for making/treating a sheet of material

A machine for producing and treating a web of material including a material web forming device, a dewatering and drying section, at least one application apparatus, a drying device and a processing device. The material web forming device forms a material web continuously from a supplied fibrous suspension. The dewatering and drying section is arranged along a material web path after the material web forming device. The section extracts water from the web by way of at least one of thermal and mechanical action. The at least one application apparatus is arranged along the material web path after the dewatering and drying section. The apparatus applies liquid or pasty application medium to at least one side of the web. The drying device is arranged along the material web path after the application apparatus. The drying device dries the moving material web to a final drying state. The processing device is arranged along the material web path after the drying device. The processing device at least one of processing, picking up and discharging the web. The at least one application apparatus includes at least one contactless application unit discharging application medium in a free application medium jet, an application medium curtain, an application medium veil or an application medium droplet spray. The at least one contactless application unit applying the application medium to the web on the basis of forces to the application medium, movement impulses imparted to the application medium and on movement of the application medium induced by the force of gravity.

Machine for producing and treating a sheet of material

A radiant element which is heated on its rear side by a burning fluid-air mixture and whose front side emits the infrared radiation. The radiant element is produced from a highly heat resistant material which contains more than 50% by weight of a metal silicide, preferably molybdenum disilicide (MoSi) or tungsten disilicide (WSi).

Infrared emitter embodied as a planar emitter

A combustion chamber which is bounded on one side by a gas-permeable barrier, on the other side by a radiant element. The radiant element having a large number of ducts and emitting infrared radiation at its front surface. A jet plate with individual jets and the ducts of the radiant element are closed on the combustion chamber side, at least in the region of the outlet openings of the jets, by which baffle surfaces are formed, and toward which the outlet openings of the jets are aimed.

Infrared radiator embodied as a surface radiator

An infrared irradiating heater having a radiating body with a housing comprised of a ceramic and having a planar radiating surface, a multiplicity of substantially flame-free passages extending perpendicular to the surface and opening at the surface, and a rear surface, the passages extending to the rear surface, the passages having lengths less than 300 mm, the total cross sectional area of the passages at the planar radiating surface being in a ratio to the area thereof in excess of 50%, and the passages having length to maximum diameter ratios of at least 5. A burner plate spaced from the rear surface defines a combustion chamber with it so that the combustion is effected substantially only in this combustion chamber and the passages are free from flame and serve as radiator surfaces.
