A lithium-sulfur cell comprising an anode structure, a cathode structure and an electrolyte section abutting to the cathode structure. The cathode structure comprises a continuous layer of nanotubes or nanowires and sulfur particles. The sulfur particles are attached to the nanotubes or nanowires. The continuous layer of nanotubes or nanowires abuts to at least a part of the electrolyte section. The invention further relates to a corresponding method for manufacturing the inventive cell.

Provided is a method for charging a battery that dynamizes the charging phase of the battery, thereby enabling optimum charging. The dynamization of the charging phase is intended to achieve effective mixing of the battery acid and/or depolarization of the electrodes and ultimately result in improved receiving of the charging current. In this context, the charging method can be carried out according to at least two different methods. In a first method, targeted discharges result in depolarization of the electrodes due to locally decreasing acid density, and in a second method the battery acid is reliably mixed as a result of temporary increasing of the charging voltage via the so-called gassing voltage of the battery. Both methods result in improved battery charging. In an embodiment of the method, the two methods are combined.

The method for displaying speed variables in a motor vehicle includes automatically selecting and displaying one of a number of different possible speed scales on a speedometer according to the physical units for speed values employed at the current location of the vehicle. An acoustic and/or optical alarm signal is produced when the vehicle passes from one governmental region in which one set of physical units is used to another in which a different set is used. In addition, speed limits at the current location may be displayed on the speed scale itself by highlighting an appropriate scale mark or producing a scale mark of a different length or color. The current location may be obtained from an on-board GPS. The speed limits and physical units for speed values at the current location are retrieved from a data storage media according to that location. The speed limits may be updated by radio connection. Digital display devices for speed values with similar features are disclosed.

A telematic device in which a car radio with an RDS module, a wireless telephone, and a positioning and navigation system are provided in one housing. The housing is designed so that it can be installed in a standard bay in the instrument panel of a motor vehicle. The telematic device can be used to receive general information via the car radio as well as specific information via the GSM module. In addition, data relating to, for example, the vehicle position, a desired destination, or an emergency call can be sent to the central station. The central station calculates one or more routes and transmits them back to the telematic device. In the event of an accident or a vehicle breakdown, an emergency call is transmitted and assistance obtained. Additional telematic services provided include an expanded anti-theft system for the motor vehicle, hotel reservations, etc.
