An apparatus provides operator feedback in response to opening or closing of a valve or coupling, The apparatus may comprise: data storage means for storing at least one recommended opening or dosing event of the valve; sensing means for sensing operator actuation of the valve or coupling; and processing means for comparing the sensed actuation of the valve or coupling against the recommended opening or dosing event of the valve or coupling in real-time or near real-time, and outputting at least one operator feedback signal based on the comparison.

A valve seat () comprises a substantially annular rigid scaffold member () and a substantially annular elastomeric sealing member () sealingly mounted on top of the rigid scaffold member. The valve seat has an outer peripheral surface for cooperation with the valve body of a valve assembly, and the elastomeric sealing member defines an inner sealing surface of the valve seat for cooperation with a valve closure disc of a valve assembly.

An apparatus for monitoring the usage of at least one maintainable part or component of a transfer valve or coupling comprises: data storage means for storing data representative of at least one attribute of the maintainable part or component of the valve or coupling; monitoring means for monitoring usage of the valve or coupling; and processing means for comparing the monitored usage of the valve or coupling against the at least one attribute of the maintainable part or component of the valve.

A split valve apparatus for the control, charging, discharging and/or regulating the flow of powders, liquids, slurries and/or fluids. The valve has two valve portions complementarily shaped such that the first can sealingly engage with and co-operate with the second to allow the flow of material therethrough. Each valve portion comprises a housing, a valve seat and a valve closure member, which is movable between two positions.
