An assembly is disclosed which comprises an SCP camshaftand a phaser mounted at one end of the SCP camshaft. The phaser has a statordriven by an engine crankshaft and two output memberseach fast in rotation with a respective one of the inner shaftand the outer tubeof the SCP camshaft. Two timing featuresare provided for enabling respective sensors to determine the angular positions of the inner shaft and the outer tube of the SCP camshaft. Camshaft and phaser assembly

A camshaft assembly is disclosed which comprises an inner shaft (), an outer tube () surrounding and rotatable relative to the inner shaft (), and two groups of cam lobes mounted on the outer tube, the first group of cam lobes being fast in rotation with the outer tube, and each cam () lobe () of the second group being rotatably mounted on the outer surface of the tube () and connected for rotation with the inner shaft () by means of one or more drive members () passing through circumferentially elongated slots in the outer tube. In the invention, each drive member comprises a () drive component () engaged with fixed alignment in the cam lobe () and a separate fastener () that is rotatable to clamp the drive component against a flat surface on the inner shaft (), each drive member () being constructed such that during the tightening of the fastener () no relative () sliding movement is required at the interface between the drive component () and the inner shaft ().

Single cam phaser camshaft

An assembly is provided comprising an SCP camshaft () having an inner shaft () and an outer tube () and a hydraulically operated twin vane phaser () having two output members () coupled respectively for rotation with the inner shaft () and the outer tube () of the SCP camshaft (). Each of the output members () of the twin phaser is axially clamped to a respective one of the inner shaft () and the outer tube () of the SCP camshaft (). A support bearing () for the twin vane phaser (), having passageways () for supplying pressure medium to working chambers of the twin vane phaser (), is formed separately from the SCP camshaft ().

The invention relates to a camshaft assembly comprising an inner shaft, an outer tube rotatable relative to the inner shaft, and two groups of cams mounted on the outer tube, the first group of cams being fast in rotation with the outer tube, and the second group being rotatably mounted on the outer surface of the tube and being connected for rotation with the inner shaft by means of connecting members that pass through circumferentially elongated slots in the outer tube. In the invention, the outer tube surrounds the inner shaft with clearance and the members connecting different ones of the cams of the second group to the inner shaft are inclined relative to one another and act to locate the axis of the inner shaft relative to the outer tube.

Camshaft assembly

A camshaft assembly is disclosed which comprises an inner shaft, an outer tube surrounding and rotatable relative to the inner shaft, and two groups of cam lobes mounted on the outer tube, the first group of cam lobes being fast in rotation with the outer tube, the second group being rotatably mounted on the outer surface of the tube and connected for rotation with the inner shaft. The connection between the second group of cam lobes and the inner shaft is effected by means of driving members whose positions are adjustable in order to compensate for significant manufacturing inaccuracies between the inner shaft and its associated group of cam lobes.
