A system for detecting a fraudulent ATM transaction is disclosed. The system relates to an ATM machine that receives a bank/ATM card from a customer. The ATM first attempts to read information from the card chip, but is unable to do so due to a read error. The ATM then instead reads the information from the magnetic strip, and initiates a fraud detection procedure. In one such procedure, the ATM uses a local wireless access point to detect a customer's device, such as a phone, in the vicinity of the ATM. In another such procedure, the ATM communicates with a backend server. The backend server then determines the location of the customer device either by transmitting a message to request authorization, or by utilizing GPS or other location-detection means on the customer device to determine whether the customer device is within the ATM vicinity.

A computer-implemented method of identifying unauthorized logins may include: receiving a login request from a user device; using a machine learning model, generating a score corresponding to the login request, the machine learning model being trained to learn associations between identification data associated with login requests and scores based at least on (i) a set of prior login requests and (ii) a set of login classifications, each of the set of login classifications corresponding to at least one of the set of prior login requests; determining whether the score exceeds a predetermined score threshold; and in response to a determination that the score exceeds the predetermined score threshold, rejecting the login request and prompting a user of the user device to submit a renewed login request.

An example method may include transmitting a noise signal through a reader connection of a magnetic reader element. The control component and the magnetic reader element may be associated with a card reader device of a transaction device, and the magnetic reader element may be configured to read a magnetic strip of a transaction card. The method may include receiving, from the magnetic reader element, a reader connection signal from the reader connection. The reader connection signal may include the noise signal. The method may include extracting, from the reader connection signal, a card information signal associated with the transaction card from the magnetic strip. The card information signal may be extracted based on the noise signal. The method may include performing an action associated with the card information signal.
