An adapter for use with a connector of a shipping container is disclosed, the adapter including a support body, a bolt and, optionally, a nut that can thread to the shaft of the bolt. The support body includes a front body portion having a through bore for passage of a shaft of the bolt and a U-shaped body portion extending from the front body portion, the U-shaped body portion including pair of elongate posts. The bolt is rotatable from a first position in which a bolt head rests against longitudinal ends of the pair of elongate posts to a second position in which the bolt head is received between the pair of elongate posts and in which the pair of elongate posts prevent the bolt head from rotating. The adapter provides the connector with an outwardly protruding shaft to which devices or apparatus can be coupled.

A wheel adapter for a cargo container includes a wheeled adapter body. A container connector on the adapter body is configured for connection to the cargo container. A container elevation bolt threadably engages the adapter body. The container elevation bolt is selectively adjustable to correspondingly adjust an elevation of the adapter body and raise the cargo container for transport.

Animal husbandry has always been susceptible to the ravages of pathogenic infections. Poultry flus and cattle diseases are but two examples that have dire consequences for animals and adversely affect the economic fortunes of farmers. A testing and culling methodology is presented that can eliminate pathogens from an infected herd. The sensitivity of PCR to detect very low levels of nucleic acid of an infecting pathogen is utilized to identify infected animals. In addition, it has been discovered that PCR analysis of manure samples can accurately identify infected animals and offspring for those species that consume placental remains after birth. Mink Aleutian Disease Virus (mADV) is one of several deadly DNA parvoviruses that can quickly reach epidemic proportions in a mink herd. PCR primers have been developed that generate amplicons to detect and identify the mADV. In addition, a previously unidentified strain of mADV has been discovered, genomically sequenced, and substantially detailed.

A vehicle trailer system for loading, transporting and unloading a load includes a trailer front structure for attachment to a towing vehicle; a pivotable structure pivotally coupled to the trailer front structure and including a transversely-movable structure for a load to slide or roll thereupon. An actuator allows causing transverse movement of the transversely-movable structure relative to a main body of the pivotable structure. A carriage mounted for bidirectional travel on the main body of the pivotable structure, the carriage including a carriage hitch for pivotably coupling a load. The transversely-movable structure in combination with the pivotably coupling carriage hitch allow correcting virtually any misalignments between the cargo container and the trailer, and clearing virtually any obstacle, in such a way that cargo containers will be able to be loaded and unloaded by small vehicles and in practically any location.

Vehicle trailer system

A vehicle trailer system for loading, transporting and unloading a load includes a wheeled trailer structure for attachment to a towing vehicle; a carriage mounted for bidirectional travel on the trailer structure; a carriage hitch carried by the carriage, the carriage hitch configured for coupling to the load; a movable, preferably pivotable arm carried by the trailer structure; and an arm actuating cylinder operably engaging the movable arm to selectively position the movable arm in lowered and raised positions. In a first raised position, the movable arm can suspend a cable attached to the load and lift the load when the cable is pulled by a winch. In a second raised position, the movable arm can arrange the cable so that it presents a strong vertical component for lowering the load onto the carriage hitch. When the movable arm is arranged in the lowered position, the carriage can travel over the movable arm as the cable pulls the load onto the trailer structure.
