A boat anchor monitoring system is disclosed and includes an anchor module operable to communicate with a base module. The anchor module includes a transmitter operable to transmit a signal containing a data payload on a set schedule. The base module on the boat is operable to determine if the signal strength exceeds, or is equal to a predetermined threshold value, in order to direct a status indicator to either display the anchor in a 'Deployed' or “Not Deployed” position. The system may further include a time measurement component or water contact sensor that will direct the indicator to display the anchor in a deployed position if sufficient time has elapsed with no signal or the anchor module has contacted water. The system is also configured to prevent ignition if the anchor is determined to be deployed.

A system is described herein that comprises a communications device periodically transmitting a radio frequency signal, wherein the periodically transmitted signal includes data. The system includes a receiver detecting the periodically transmitted signal, the detecting including measuring strength of the periodically transmitted signal, the detecting including using the signal strength to provide a first estimate of the receiver's distance from the communications device. The system includes the communications device comprising at least one location sensor for determining an additional distance indication, wherein the data includes the additional distance indication. An apparatus is described that comprises a microphone array and a plurality of transducers. The microphone array and the plurality of transducers are communicatively coupled with at least one processor. The apparatus includes the microphone array for receiving at least one signal. Each transducer of the plurality of transducers is configured to deliver a correction signal along a transducer beam spread axis, wherein the plurality of transducers is positioned on the apparatus for providing a combined transducer beam spread coverage in the horizontal plane. One or more applications running on the at least one processor use information of the at least one signal to detect a sound event. The detecting the sound event includes selecting transducers from the plurality of transducers and instructing the selected transducers to deliver a correction signal.

The system includes one or more environmental sensors configured to detect environmental data of the animal's environment and to transmit the environmental data to the collar device. The collar device comprises one or more applications running on at least one processor for detecting an occurrence of one or more events using at least one of the physiological data, the environmental data, and outcome data. The one or more applications are configured to use information of the one or more events to select a sound masking signal for delivery after the occurrence of the one or more events The system includes a sound masking component for delivering the sound masking signal.

A system is described that includes communications modules, a wearable device, and an application running on a processor of a computing platform. The system includes placing each communications module at a location in a premise, wherein each communications module periodically transmits a unique number, wherein the application detects and stores each unique number. The system includes the application organizing linking information by linking each unique number with a distance and a function and transmitting the linking information to the wearable device. The wearable device may detect a transmission of a communications module, use information of the transmission to identify the communications module's unique number and to estimate a distance from the wearable device to its location. The wearable device may use the linking information to identify the corresponding function and distance and perform the function when the estimated distance meets at least one criterion with respect to the distance.

A system is described that includes devices detecting and periodically transmitting data of events and conditions within an environment. The devices are communicatively coupled with applications running on processors of a remote server. The devices periodically request a connection with the applications, wherein the applications monitor a range of port numbers for receiving the devices' connection requests. The devices request connections at corresponding port numbers among the monitored range of port numbers. The applications accept the connection requests from the devices at the corresponding port numbers, wherein the devices transmit the data to the one or more applications during corresponding communication sessions.
