A progress note in a patient's medical record can be created in a database format which is unalterable. New versions of the notes which reflect revised viewpoints of the user may be created without deleting original notes. The database which stores these progress notes can check accuracy in diagnosis and orders by the user.

Progress notes model in a clinical information system

A computer-based method is provided for transferring data that includes a genomic sequence. The method includes identifying at least one genomic base in an input data stream comprising said genomic sequence; assigning a base-specific binary code to the at least one genomic base; grouping the base-specific binary code to form a genomic data stream representative of the genomic sequence; assigning a command binary code to at least one command for selectively processing said genomic data stream; and integrating said genomic data stream and said command binary code to form an output binary data stream.

Genomic messaging system

A device for the collection of Raman scattered light by means of an internally reflective sphere 10 wherein a light source 12 provides light to and through a sample 16, which light is reflected back through that sample by the internally reflective sphere 10. The sample is viewed by means of a spectrograph 30 focused by lenses 26, 28 or a fiberoptic light pipe 46.
