A cell washer is disclosed. The cell washer includes a vessel configured to hold cells. The vessel includes an elongated body including an opening, an inner surface, and a pocket defined by a first inner surface portion of the inner surface disposed between and radially outward relative to a second inner surface portion and a third inner surface portion of the inner surface, and a cavity. The vessel also includes an actuating device capable of causing the vessel to spin about an axis.

Cell washing device and method

A diagnostic instrument is disclosed. The diagnostic instrument may have a highly efficient probe washer station and/or may be able to sense whether there is a tube septum on a specimen tube to be sampled. The instrument may also be able to determine where the bottom of the tube is located. The probe washer station may have a flow of saline that is used to wash both the internal cavity and the external circumference of the probe.

Apparatuses, components, methods, and systems for interrogating samples are provided. An example system includes a flow cell. An example flow cell includes an aperture, an inlet chamber, and a sample injector positioned within the inlet chamber. An example sample injector is configured to generate a sample stream that flows in biased proximity to a profile included in the inlet chamber. An example method includes the steps of causing sheath fluid to flow into an inlet chamber and through an aperture, injecting sample into an inlet chamber with a sample injector to form a sample stream that is entrained in the sheath fluid, and interrogating the sample stream as the sample stream passes through an interrogation region within the aperture. An example sample injector includes an outlet that is disposed in an off-center position within the inlet chamber.

A diagnostic instrument having a cellular analysis system capable of running standardized immune monitoring panels. The system could include an automated and integrated specimen sampling method through a continuous flow process. The instrument could include a probe washer station, scheduler, cassette autoloader, bar coding system, and/or containment area common interface. An improved optimization test is proposed for instrument and flow cytometer quality assurance. The proposed method analyzes population separation for measuring instrument performance and/or sample quality. Such a method may also use population separation for measuring sample and/or run quality.

Diagnostic instrument and flow process

A retractable pet leash system allows a pet to vary its distance from the leash system, with the system paying out additional leash as needed, and when not needed, automatically retracting the leash back into the system. If at any time a user desires to halt further payout of leash, the user presses a button that causes the leash to be pressed against a frictional element that causes braking of leash payout at a gradually increasing rate while simultaneously, a lever lockably engages the spool preventing further rotation of the spool in the payout direction.

The present disclosure provides a polar coordinate positioning system. The system can be used, for example, to sample a microtiter plate or sample tubes. In some embodiments, the system orients a sample with respect to a sampling tool using polar coordinates. In some embodiments, the sample is configured to rotate about an axis and move linearly in a direction transverse to the axis, and the sampling tool is configured to move linearly in a direction transverse to the linearly movement of the sample.

Polar coordinate positioning system

A salon chair includes a pedicure basin positioned between the foot of the chair and a front step opposite the foot of the chair. The pedicure basin includes a bottom floor, a perforated stepping surface above the bottom floor of the basin, and a nozzle assembly disposed between the bottom floor and the stepping surface for agitating water in the pedicure basin. Pressurized air is directed out of the nozzle assembly to induce a whirlpool action in the water held by the basin. The stepping surface may remain in the pedicure basin for days at a time, but may be removed when desired for cleaning purposes. The front step includes a cut-out, or groove, allowing allows a technician's chair to pull up closer to a person seated in the salon chair.

Methods and devices for determining the nuclear packing efficiency (NPE) of a cell nucleus and other biological particles. An NPE can be determined by correlating at least one biochemical component, such as DNA content, to nuclear volume using a variety of mathematical techniques. Flow cytometry is particularly useful for measuring nuclear volume in terms of the electronic nuclear volume (ENV). The NPE can then be used to characterize individual cells and cell populations in terms of species and tissue source, sexing, stage of the cell division cycle, differentiation and apoptosis, as well as differentiating among benign, malignant and metastatic states to diagnose cancer.

Nuclear packing efficiency

An animal restraint device is comprised of two identical mating collar elements, each element having a pair of outwardly extending legs and having at least one passage on one leg and at least one tab on an opposing leg such that the two elements may be connected by passing the respective tabs of each element through the respective passages of the other element, whereby when connected the elements define an aperture for receiving the animal's neck. A method comprises engaging a pair of collar members such that when connected, a neck of the animal to be restrained is positioned in an opening defined by recesses of the first and second collar members, the engaging step comprising engaging a locking member associated with each of the collar members with a passage associated with the other of the collar members.

A flow cytometer has an aperture in which an inlet chamber and/or an outlet chamber have predetermined geometric relationships with respect to the aperture for decreasing electronic edge effects and increasing the sensitivity of electronic particle volume measurements. In one embodiment, the aperture is triangular and is formed by assembling a plurality of truncated pyramids with their truncated surfaces defining aperture walls. At least one of the elements forming the aperture walls is either part of a lens systems or a transparent cover plate so that simultaneous optical and electronic cell volume measurements can be performed. In one embodiment, a piezoelectric transducer is provided to sonically clear any aperture clogging.

The invention discloses a sawbuck. The sawbuck comprises a rectangular base, from the base there are upwardly projecting side walls, on two sides there is an outer and inner wall. The distance between the inner and outer walls define an opening, the said opening is for holding slats, the slats are positioned for holding logs, the logs are placed across the facing side walls in between the slats.
