Wearable headlight devices and related methods are provided and can include a luminaire that can include a housing having a luminaire vent therein for receiving cooling air and a light source contained within the housing. An air moving device can be located outside of the luminaire for facilitating cooling air intake through the luminaire vent. An exhaust tube can be connected to the luminaire and the air moving device to facilitate air flow of the cooling air between the luminaire and the air moving device.

Wearable headlight devices and related methods

A handheld diagnostic instrument includes a handle and an instrument head associated with the handle. An innerformer is disposed in an inner cavity of the instrument head in which the instrument head further includes a tab holder. A cushion member is disposed within the housing between the innerformer and the interior of the instrument head. Further, a lens is attached to the instrument head, the lens including a lens tab. A seal is formed between the lens and the innerformer when the lens tab is engaged with the tab holder wherein the cushion member acts to bias the innerformer to maintain the defined seal.

A blood pressure sleeve includes a first sheet having a top side and a bottom side and a second sheet having a top surface and a bottom surface. The second sheet is attached to the first sheet and defines an inflatable portion, the first and second sheets each having a fluid impermeable surface. The inflatable portion includes an opening sized for receiving a port that interconnects the exterior of the sleeve with the interior of the inflatable portion and in which the first sheet includes a slotted portion opposite the port and aligned therewith to receive the port when the sleeve is wrapped about the limb of a patient, and in which at least a portion of the wrapped cuff is treated to reduce frictional effects.

Disclosed in this specification is a luminaire with a vented iris controller disposed on the external surface of the housing of the luminaire. The controller is for dilating and constricting the iris, thus controlling the size of the illuminated spot, wherein the iris controller is comprised of a hollow cylinder, rotatable relative to the housing. The cylinder has an inner ring and an outer ring, wherein the inner ring and outer ring are connected by a plurality of braces and vented spaces are present between each of the braces. Advantageously, the vented spaces help keep the outer ring cool, thus facilitating the operation of the iris controller by a user.

An intraoral dental instrument includes an elongate handle or body and a mirror that is releasably attachable to a distal end thereof. An LED housing disposed in the handle proximate a light entrance surface of the mirror includes a housing body sized to retain at least one LED and a reflector attached to a distal end of the housing body. The reflector has an inwardly tapered cavity covering a LED lens envelope for focusing illumination from the at least one LED onto a portion of the light entrance surface of the mirror.

An imaging assembly includes a miniature electronic image sensor including an imaging substrate having a plurality of pixels and a microlens array aligned with corresponding pixels on said imaging substrate and focusing optics for focusing an optical image of a target onto the imaging substrate including at least one adaptive lens element. The focusing optics have a first exit pupil distance defining a first field of view and the miniature electronic image sensor has a second exit pupil distance defining a second field of view which is different than the first exit pupil distance. The adaptive lens element directs light onto said imaging substrate through said microlens array while maintaining the first field of view.

A diagnostic assembly includes an instrument having a body portion and a distal camera head, in which a protective sheath encases the instrument body and includes a transparent window for allowing the camera head to view a target. A releasably attached handle overlays the instrument body and includes inner surfaces conforming to the instrument body to clamp the sheath in a predetermined position to prevent the sheath and the transparent window form being twisted during use.

An imaging system has an optical assembly that can be removably attached to an elongated housing for insertion therewith into a narrow orifice. The housing has an imager such as a CCD array disposed therein. The housing and the optical assembly are secured together by a bayonet connector that is centered on the distal end of the housing. The housing has a plurality of light guides for transmitting light energy through the distal end of the housing via ports that are radially more distant from the axis of the housing than the outermost surface of the bayonet connector. The optical assembly has passages that align with the light guides of the housing, so that light energy passes from the light guides in the housing through the optical assembly along pathways that are outboard of the bayonet connector. The system can be employed for dental imaging, wherein the housing has an elliptical profile and is dimensioned to fit in the mouth of a patient. The housing further has a smooth, continuous exterior surface for receiving a protective sheath thereon. The exterior surface of the optical adapter is aligned with the exterior surface of the housing so that the unit has a smoothly continuous surface.

A film holder for a video display system, having a probe with a head portion, a processor, a monitor, and a printer for producing a permanent hard copy of the image received by the probe, includes a housing for positioning the film relative to the head of the video probe. The housing is provided with an aperture for receiving, positioning, and securing the head of the video probe within the housing. The housing also includes a diffuser for diffusing light entering the housing, and a slidable frame positioned between the diffuser and the housing aperture. The sliding frame is employed to secure the film at a predetermined distance from the head of the video probe. The sliding frame is provided with quick release fasteners so that individual pieces of x-ray film are easily interchanged within the frame.

There is disclosed a video system having a photodetector for sensing an optical pattern that is representative of a field of interest. The system incorporates a CCD photosensor having a pixel format adapted to a particular video convention, and further includes video electronics, a video output device such as a display, tape, or computer, which is adapted to a second video convention. The video output device introduces a distortion into the system in accordance with an incompatibility between the first video convention and the second video convention. To correct the distortion a cylindrical lens is disposed in the optical path extending from the photodetector to the field of interest, for varying at least one dimension of the optical pattern.
