The invention relates to a process and an apparatus for the production of a bundle of filaments from at least one filament, and its application especially to the production of a bundle of hollow semi-permeable fibers used for producing a filtration module. According to this invention, the filaments (1) is wound in a first step, in several superposed layers around a support plate (10) having two take-up edges (17) perpendicular to the direction of winding of the filament, and conferring on this filament an alternating transverse movement of decreasing amplitude in such a manner as to achieve a winding having a predetermined profile. The support plate (10) is then removed by retracting the take-up edges (17) toward each other so as to obtain a bundle having a transverse section which is a function of the profile of the winding and curved ends.

Process for production of a bundle of hollow semi-permeable fibers

The present invention concerns a method and an apparatus for quality control of textile threads, and particularly of threads produced by different spinning methods. The apparatus comprises a housing (10) containing two measurement modules. A first module comprises a double condenser (32) and its associated electronic circuit to determine uniformity of linear mass of the thread, a precision scale (31) to determine linear mass and a drive means (33). The second module comprises a device (34) and a device (37) which cooperate to determine twist and elastic recovery of the thread. A manipulator (17) allows automatic positioning of the test pieces of thread (46) admitted into the apparatus through flexible tubes (16). The apparatus offers the advantage of permitting a series of measurements to be taken and computer processed for purposes of statistical compilation and/or memory storage.

Apparatus for automatic quality control of textile threads

Textile strands or threads with no twist at least partially coated by wax are formed by immersion in a molten wax while in a false twisted state. The coated strands or threads are then cooled and the wax solidifies.
