A cleaning system for an agricultural sprayer may include a sprayer boom, a plurality of nozzle assemblies provided in association with the sprayer boom and configured to dispense an agricultural product during a spraying operation of the agricultural sprayer, a first cleaning fluid tank configured to hold a first cleaning fluid, and a nozzle assembly fluid circuit fluidly coupling the plurality of nozzle assemblies and the first cleaning fluid tank. Moreover, the cleaning system may include a cleaning station supported on the sprayer boom, the cleaning station comprising a first valve. Additionally, the cleaning system may include a first cleaning fluid circuit fluidly coupling the first valve and the first cleaning fluid tank. The first valve is configured to supply the first cleaning fluid therethrough when the first valve is in an open position.

The applicator comprises a bin to hold the product, a pneumatic conveying system to provide an airflow, a metering system operably connected between the supply compartment and the pneumatic conveying system, and a rail system. A storage system for storing hydraulic fluid used to drive hydraulically driven components of an agricultural implement and of filling the same are provided. The storage system includes a tank having an underside. The tank has a cavity in an interior thereof for receiving the hydraulic fluid therein. A quick connect coupling is operatively connected to the underside of the tank and has an output end in communication with the cavity in the tank and an input end connectable to a hydraulic fluid source. The quick connect coupling is configured to allow for flow from the input end to the output end thereof.

A telescoping axle arrangement is provided for an agricultural applicator having a frame supported above a ground surface by a ground engaging wheel operatively connected to the frame by the telescoping axle arrangement. First and second slidingly engaging axle elements adapted for operative connection between the frame and the wheel, provide extension and retraction of the axle along a longitudinal axis of the axle. The second axle element includes a longitudinally extending closed-ended retention track. An axle retention element is fixedly attachable to and protrudes from the first axle element into operative engagement with the closed-ended retention track in the second axle element in such a manner that the axle retention element contacts the closed end of the retention track at a maximum permissible extension of the telescoping axle arrangement to thereby preclude further sliding extension of the second axle element with respect to the first axle element.

A vehicle frame having a calibrated frame stiffness gradient is provided by fixedly attaching a series of cladding plates to an external surface of a tubular member of the frame, with the series of cladding plates including at least one immediately preceding cladding plate and one successive cladding plate. The cladding plates have thicknesses and peripheral shapes that are cooperatively configured to provide the desired stiffness gradient in the frame member. A trailing raised bead extending from the last cladding plate in the series along the surface of the frame member provides a further means for achieving the desired stiffness gradient.

A system, apparatus and method for controlling the height of a frame of a self-propelled high ground clearance, agricultural product applicator above a ground surface utilize a trailing link suspension system including an extensible air strut, for connecting ground engaging wheels of the applicator to the frame of the applicator. The trailing arm suspension system includes an upper suspension arm attached to the frame, a lower suspension arm providing sole support of a ground engaging wheel attached to the lower arm, and the extensible air strut interconnected between the upper and lower arms. Height of the applicator above the ground surface is controlled by regulating a flow of pressurized air to the air strut, to thereby control extension of the air strut.

A multi-width dual wheel arrangement and method utilize a dual wheel spacer and a clamping disk for selectively mounting a dual wheel having a rim to a first wheel at a desired axial spacing of the dual wheel from the first wheel along a rolling axis of the dual and first wheels. The clamping ring is positioned outboard of the rim to clamp the rim between the clamping ring and the spacer for positioning the dual wheel at a first axial spacing from the first wheel along the rolling axis. The clamping ring is positioned inboard between the rim of the dual wheel and the dual wheel spacer for positioning the dual wheel at a second axial spacing from the first wheel. A third axial spacing is provided by configuring the rim to have a convex surface that may be electively positioned facing toward or away from the first wheel.

A system, apparatus and method for providing task-specific ride-height control in a self-propelled agricultural product applicator utilize a controllable ride-height trailing arm suspension system for independently joining each wheel to a frame of the applicator. Each trailing arm suspension system includes upper and lower suspension arms, an extensible air strut, and an angular position sensor operatively interconnected to one another and disposed between a rolling axis of the ground engaging wheel independently supported by that suspension system and a point of attachment of the suspension system to the frame, such that the position sensor detects a relative angular position between the upper and lower suspension arms at a present extension of the air strut. An electronic control unit utilizes the angular positions detected by the sensors, in conjunction with a desired task input, to control the air struts in a manner providing a ride-height corresponding to the desired task input.

A system, apparatus and method for detecting and controlling the height of a frame of a self-propelled agricultural product applicator above a ground surface utilize a trailing link suspension system including an angular position sensor and extensible air strut, for connecting ground engaging wheels of the applicator to the frame of the applicator. Height of the applicator above the ground surface is determined by measuring relative angular rotation of upper and lower suspension arms of the suspension system about a suspension pivot axis, using the angular position sensor. Height is controlled by regulating a flow of pressurized air to the air strut, to thereby control extension of the air strut in a manner that controls a frame to axle, ride-height, distance of the suspension system.

A system, apparatus and method for providing task-specific ride-height and speed control in a self-propelled agricultural product applicator utilize a controllable ride-height trailing arm suspension system, including an extensible air strut and an angular position sensor, for independently joining each wheel to a frame of the applicator. An electronic control unit utilizes the angular positions detected by the sensors, in conjunction with a desired task input, to control the air struts in a manner providing a ride-height corresponding to the desired task input. The electronic control unit also controls maximum speed of the applicator for each task, per a predetermined schedule, or in response to a suspended load of the applicator.

An apparatus and method utilize a mounting arrangement having a base block and a mating retainer plate for securing a plurality of hard lines to a vehicle chassis in a spaced apart array. The base block includes several parallel slots having depressions for receiving pairs of hard lines and supporting them in a spaced relationship, prior to installation of the retainer plate. Once the hard lines are all positioned within the depressions in the slots of the base block, the retainer plate is secured to the base block in a face-to-face manner to the base block, to thereby secure the hard lines in the depressions of the slots in the spaced apart array of hard lines.

An enclosure assembly configured to enhance accessibility to a drive unit of a vehicular agricultural applicator is provided. The enclosure assembly generally includes a housing, and a hinged panel pivotal about an axis defined by a hinge assembly between an open and a closed position with respect to the housing. The axis is generally aligned in a fore and aft direction. The enclosure assembly further includes an arm pivotally coupled at the hinged panel and movable between a stowed position and an extended position. In the folded position, the arm is retained in a slot at the hinged panel. In the extended position, the arm is in general vertical alignment engaged at the housing so as to hold the hinged panel in the open position.

A grille arrangement for an enclosure of a drive unit of a self-propelled agricultural applicator is provided. The grille arrangement includes a screen, and a frame mounted by the screen. The frame includes a first strut connected by at least one movable latch assembly to the enclosure, and a second strut having a first linear portion aligned at an obtuse angle relative to a second linear portion in top plan view. The screen is attached at the first linear portion. With the frame and screen aligned at the obtuse angle relative to a vertical plane perpendicular to a forward direction of travel, the second linear portion slides into a notch at a vertical support strut fixed at the enclosure. Upon sliding the second linear portion in the notch, rotation of the frame rotates the second linear portion to a lock position securing the frame and screen at the enclosure.

A subframe arrangement is configured for a mobile vehicle chassis assembly to enhance isolation of the subframe platform and drive mechanism from flex in the chassis assembly caused by dynamic forces associated with operation of the chassis assembly. The chassis assembly includes a frame having a front and a rear frame support, and a pair of elongated frame side supports interconnected therebetween. The subframe arrangement includes a subframe platform configured to receive the drive-unit, and a plurality of subframe mounting couplings operable to attach the subframe platform to the pair of elongated frame side supports. Each of the plurality of subframe mounting couplings is located along a generally isosceles triangular-shaped arrangement that enhances isolation of the subframe arrangement and attached drive unit.
