A stand alone sensor module having built in intelligence that provides object detection for a both a vehicle and stationary applications. The system includes a processor connected to a sensor and a signal interface. The processor receives signals from the sensor and the signal interface and generates a status signal based on the signals received from the sensor and the signal interface. The processor drives the status signal to the signal interface.

System and method of providing scalable sensor systems based on stand alone sensor modules

A trailer based collision warning system includes one or more side object detection sensors, one or more backup assist sensors, a driver vehicle interface, and trailer-mounted display units operating essentially independent of the tractor with all detection and warning system equipment mounted on the trailer. The trailer based collision warning system is coupled to industry-standard tractor to trailer wiring to provide the trailer with power and signals such as left turn indication and right turn indication. The side and rear sensors detect the presence and location of objects and transfer this information to a driver vehicle interface device located on the trailer. The system can also be equipped with video cameras with a means of automatically activating the camera in the area where a hazard condition has been detected. The driver vehicle interface determines the nature of the information and/or warning needed by the driver and provides this information in the form of signals sent to displays that can to assist the driver in safely maneuvering the trailer. The collision warning system can also operate in a security mode.

Trailer based collision warning system and method

A collision avoidance system for a vehicle. The collision avoidance system includes one or more transmitting devices, one or more receiving devices, a control module and a mirror. The receiving devices receive return signals and send information regarding the return signals to the control module. The control module detects a hazard based on the information received from the one or more receiving devices. The mirror includes visual indicators for warning a driver of the hazard detected by the control module.

System and method for warning of potential collisions

A collision avoidance system including a control module, a first transmitting device connected to the control module, wherein the first transmitting device transmits a signal, a first receiving device connected to the control module, wherein the first receiving device receives a return of the signal transmitted from the first transmitting device and transmits a first return signal representative of the return to the control device, a second transmitting device connected to the control module, wherein the second transmitting device transmits a signal, and a second receiving device connected to the control module device, wherein the second receiving device receives a return of the signal transmitted from the second transmitting device and transmits a second return signal representative of the return to the control device, wherein the control module includes measurement circuitry used to measure the first and second return signals and display means for displaying a transverse location of an object as a function of said first and second return signals.

System and method of avoiding collisions

An edge connector for a printed circuit card that includes normalling contacts. The connector is designed to make circuit with the printed circuit card before breaking the normalling contacts by having two springable contacts positioned so that the printed circuit card must pass between them and against a first set of contact surfaces before it can reach and separate the normalling or second set of contact surfaces.

A system for electronically selecting and establishing test loop circuits between a remote test position and any of a large number of communication lines at an access location. Extensive logic circuits at the access end and the test end exchange information and display for the operator if the circuit is ready, if there has been a transmission error or component failure, if the circuits are busy, and other factors that affect the system thereby making the operator's task easier. Fail safe circuits prevent opening of telephone lines by access circuitry malfunctions.
