A medical support appliance custom made to fit the patient's limb exactly. Since the appliance fits exactly, it restricts the engorgement of varicose veins and swelling of the limb by retaining its exact shape and dimension, thereby resisting any outward expansion of the limb, and not by pressing in on the limb. The appliance employs an assembly of materials which resists the outward pressure exerted by the veins by retaining its circumference dimensions, and which at the same time stretches longitudinally for comfort and mobility. The assembly is a composite of latex, formed around a replica of the patient's limb, wrapped with non-stretch fiberglass thread, and finished with trim material and a zipper.

Fixed-circumference medical support appliance

A system is disclosed for transmitting data from satellites to unmanned or manned air vehicles (U/MAVs), and then from U/MAVs to Gateway/customer premise equipment (Gateway/CPE). Conversely, the system transmits data from the Gateway/CPEs to the U/MAVs, and then from the U/MAVs to satellites. The transmission between the satellites and U/MAVs involves optical or high frequency microwaves, and the transmission between the U/MAVs and the Gateway/CPEs occurs at lower microwave frequencies. A converting unit within the U/MAVs convert the data between the optical and higher microwave frequencies and the lower microwave frequencies. In another embodiment, data is crosslinked by transmitting it from a first U/MAV to other U/MAVs.

System for satellite to airship to gateway/customer premise equipment, and airship to airship, high data rate relay

A neutral buoyancy fuel bladder uses hydrogen and oxygen to power an airship. The neutral buoyancy fuel bladder includes a fuel cell, electrolyzer, and means for storing hydrogen, oxygen and water. The fuel cell uses the hydrogen and oxygen to create heat, water and current flow. An energy source transmits a beam to an energy receiving unit on the airship, and the energy from said beam is used to (1) power said airship, and (2) replenish the supply of hydrogen and oxygen.

Airship with neutral buoyancy fuel bladder

Continuous hot dip aluminum coated ferritic chromium alloy steel strip. Strip is cleaned by heating to a temperature no greater than about 650.degree. C. in a direct fired furnace. The cleaned strip is further heated in a protective atmosphere containing at least 95% by volume hydrogen, cooled in the protective hydrogen atmosphere to near or slightly above the melting point of an aluminum coating metal, and passed into a bath of the aluminum coating metal. The low direct fired furnace cleaning temperature and hydrogen protective atmosphere provides good wetting of a chromium alloy steel surface to prevent uncoated areas or pin holes in the aluminum coated layer.

Hot dip aluminum coated chromium alloy steel

Continuously hot dip aluminum coated ferritic chromium alloy steel strip. After the steel has been given a pretreatment to remove surface contaminants, the steel is protected in a hydrogen atmosphere until it is passed into the molten aluminum coating metal. The coating metal readily wets the steel surface to prevent uncoated areas or pin holes in the coating layer.
