The present invention relates to OLED devices having anodes with improved stability and longer lifetime. In particular, the present invention relates to OLEDs comprising an anode having improved stability and longer lifetime wherein the anode comprises a semi-transparent single layer comprising molybdenum.

Organic light emitting diode devices with improved anode stability

An integrated organic light emitting diode (OLED) color display device is disclosed. The OLED display device comprises at least one pixel element ( ) capable of emitting visible light of varying wavelengths. Pixel element ( ) may comprise: a substrate ( ), an addressable two-dimensional matrix of organic light emitting diodes ( ) that emits monochrome light, a color conversion matrix element ( ) capable of absorbing the monochrome light and re-emitting that light at different wavelengths, and cover element ( ). Color conversion matrix element ( ) may further comprise at least one red color converting subelement ( ), at least one green color converting subelement ( ), and at least one blue color converting subelement ( ). The color converting subelements ( , and ) may further comprise semiconductor nanocrystals ( ) uniformly dispersed in a transparent organic binding material ( ). The size distribution of the semiconductor nanocrystals ( ) may be precisely controlled to define the capability for color conversion to a particular wavelength of re-emitted light. The color conversion matrix element ( ) is fabricated separately from the organic light emitting diode matrix. A method for making an integrated organic light emitting diode display device comprising at least one pixel element ( ) capable of emitting visible light of varying wavelengths is also disclosed.

Inorganic-based color conversion matrix element for organic color display devices and method of fabrication

An organic light emitting device for a multicolor image display. The elements of the device are arranged laterally along the substrate surface in a pillar and channel arrangement, rather than the traditional method of vertical stacking. The invention's pillar and channel architecture provides a rugged structure which can be efficiently encapsulated. The lateral arrangement of the various elements along the substrate reduces sheet resistance and increases external efficiency by allowing the typical transparent conductor layer to be replaced with a conventional metal.
