A device for connecting a soccer net to the horizontal crossbar of a soccer goal eight feet above the ground without using a ladder includes a resilient clip having an inner surface which is shaped and dimensioned to receive the horizontal crossbar and a line long enough to be thrown over the crossbar and hang down low enough to be reached and pulled down. The clip is attached to the edge cord of the net. The line is then thrown over the crossbar and pulled down raising the clip and net to the crossbar until the mouth of the clip is facing downward on the top of the crossbar. The line and net are then pulled down simultaneously forcing the mouth of the resilient clip to open, receive, and clamp on the horizontal cross bar. Conversely, when the net is to be removed, the line is thrown over the crossbar in the opposite direction and the line is pulled down until the clip is rotated until the mouth of the clip is facing upward on the crossbar. The line and clip are then pulled down simultaneously forcing the mouth of the resilient clip to open and disengage from the crossbar.

A TWT collector has axially-positioned collector stages in which at least one of the stages includes a plurality of annularly-arranged stage segments. The collector enhances electron beam velocity sorting by facilitating a combination of (a) selecting axial electric field distributions with application of selected voltages to the axially-positioned collector stages and (b) selecting radial electric field distributions with application of selected voltages to the annularly-arranged stage segments.

Circumferentially-segmented collector usable with a TWT

A traveling wave tube having an electron gun and a collector assembly is provided. The assemblies include a sleeve placed around an isolator. The sleeve is either heat shrunk or heat deformed around the isolator. Heat shrinking is performed when the sleeve radius is initially larger than the isolator radius. During heat shrinking, the sleeve is heated to cause the sleeve radius to increase and be larger than the isolator radius. The sleeve is then placed around the isolator and cooled causing the sleeve to contract upon the isolator. Heat deformation is performed when the sleeve radius is initially smaller than the isolator radius. During heat deformation, the isolator is inserted into the sleeve. The isolator and the sleeve are then heated so that the sleeve expands to a constrained amount of expansion and then deforms. The sleeve and the isolator are then cooled causing the sleeve to contract upon the isolator.

Method of heat shrink assembly of traveling wave tube

A die is disclosed for applying radial force to an eccentric workpiece. The die includes a set of faces that are each inclined from an orthogonal relationship with a different radial plane of the workpiece by an offset angle. The die also includes wedges that are positioned on the faces. They each have a jaw surface and a slide surface that are inclined from a parallel relationship with each other by a wedge angle that equals the offset angle of their respective face. The wedges can move over the faces to abut the workpiece along each of a plurality of transverse planes. In each of these planes, their movement can accommodate the workpiece's eccentricity in that plane. In addition, each jaw surface abuts the workpiece in a tangential relationship.
