A device for the quantification of cellular and non-cellular components in a blood sample including detection electrodes including a first electrode connected with a first input to receive a first signal in input and a second electrode, reference electrodes including a first electrode connected with a second input configured to receive a second signal in input of opposite polarity to the first input signal and a second electrode connected to the second electrode of said detection electrodes, in a common point wherefrom an output signal is picked up, a ferromagnetic concentrator that cooperates with an external magnetic field external to effectuate concentration of said components on said detection electrodes, a substrate configured to house said detection electrodes, reference electrodes, and concentrator; a support configured to collect a blood sample, and a spacer element to confine in the substrate plane the blood sample and to distance said substrate from said support.

Device and method for the quantification of cellular and non-cellular blood components

A device for sensing a magnetic field, comprising a closed superconducting loop configured to collect a magnetic field to be sensed, hereinafter external magnetic field, the closed superconducting loop having a path width (w) and being provided with a constriction having a width (w) narrower than the path width, the constriction generating a non-uniform magnetic field, hereinafter internal magnetic field, in response to the external magnetic field, a vibrating mechanical oscillator coupled to, or formed by the constriction and responsive to the internal magnetic field, and a detector configured to detect deflection or vibration of the mechanical oscillator and providing a signal indicative of the deflection or vibration.

Device for sensing a magnetic field

An opto-magnetic device includes an integrated optical circuit having an input for an input optical radiation and at least one output for an output optical radiation. The optical circuit defines an area sensible to the variations of a local refraction index probed by the optical radiation, destined to come in contact with the sample. A plurality of probe molecules are included to anchor to the sensible area, and a plurality of magnetic particles are included to anchor to molecules of the analyte, bound to the probe molecules upon a molecular recognition. A magnetic actuator is configured to generate a variable magnetic field and oscillate the magnetic particles to cause variation of the refraction index probed by the optical radiation in the sensible area, and a variation of at least one characteristic parameter of the output optical radiation correlated to a concentration of the molecules of the analyte.

Opto-magnetic sensor device and molecular recognition system

A sensor is described for detecting the presence of a magnetic nanoparticle (N). The sensor is arranged on a support (), on which a plurality of non-magnetic contacts (Iin, GND, V, V) electrically conductively connected to the sensor is disposed. The contacts are adapted to be connected to means for measuring magnetoresistance. The sensor includes a planar ferromagnetic nanostructure (), comprising a detection area () shaped as a strip bent to form a corner. The detection area is adapted to selectively assume, as a response to an applied magnetic field, a first spin configuration comprising a transverse 'head-to-head' domain wall (TW), and a second spin configuration, wherein such domain wall (TW) is absent. The transition from the first configuration to the second configuration is affected by the proximity of a magnetic nanoparticle (N) to the detection area.
