A plant () for building tyres comprises a system for managing initial components (); a system for managing the manufacturing of semi-finished products () starting from one or more initial components; a system for managing the building of a green tyre () starting from one or more semi-finished products; a system for managing the curing of said green tyre (). The logical set of a control unit () for the plant () and/or of one or more from among control units (-) for the management systems (-) and/or of a automatic visual control system () is programmed for controlling at least two parameters, assigning to each of these a quality index (I), discarding a tyre being processed when a quality index (I) corresponding to said discard level () is assigned to at least one of said parameters and feedbacking the control result of at least one parameter in order to verify the quality index (I) of the parameters.

Method and plant for building tyres

An apparatus for checking tyres has a support, deformation systems, positioning actuators and a moving member. The deformation systems apply, in operation, compression forces on respective surfaces of a free wall of the tyre to form deformed portions of the free wall. The positioning actuators move the deformation systems towards and away from the surfaces. The moving member sets the tyre in relative rotation with respect to the deformation systems.

Apparatus for checking tyres

An apparatus and a process for controlling tires wherein the apparatus includes at least one control station which includes: a base; a rotating table mounted on the base so as to be able to rotate around a respective vertical rotation axis; at least one control device operatively active at the rotating table; and a movement device configured for rotating the rotating table around the vertical rotation axis. The rotating table has a substantially horizontal abutment portion configured for receiving and supporting a sidewall of a tire to be controlled. The abutment portion is movable in the horizontal plane according to two directions with respect to the vertical rotation axis by means of an actuator. A detection device is configured for detecting a shift between the vertical rotation axis and the main axis of the tire. An electronic management unit operatively connected to the detection device and to the actuator is configured for driving the actuator and moving the abutment portion according to the two directions as a function of the detected shift in order to render such shift less than a pre-established value, so as to center the tire with respect to the vertical rotation axis before executing the controls.

Process and apparatus for controlling tyres, in a process and plant for manufacturing tyres for vehicle wheels

A plant for building tires includes a system for managing initial components; a system for managing the manufacturing of semi-finished products starting from one or more initial components; a system for managing the building of a green tire starting from one or more semi-finished products; and a system for managing the curing of said green tire. The logical set of a control unit for the plant and/or of one or more from among control units for the management systems and/or of an automatic visual control system is programmed for controlling at least two parameters, assigning to each of these a quality index, discarding a tire being processed when a quality index corresponding to said discard level is assigned to at least one of said parameters and feedbacking the control result of at least one parameter in order to verify the quality index of the parameters.

A system for controlling a parameter relative to the quality of a tire being processed includes at least one system for detecting a parameter relative to one or more tires being processed. A control unit is programmed for comparing a succession of values of the parameter by comparing each value with at least one discard threshold and preferably with at least one warning threshold. The discard threshold divides a discard interval from an acceptable interval. The warning threshold belongs to the acceptable interval and defines one or more warning intervals. The control unit is also programmed for controlling the trend of the succession of values with respect to the discard threshold. A method for controlling quality of production of tires.

Method for controlling the quality of a tyre production and plant for producing tyres

An apparatus for controlling tires includes a support plane configured for receiving a tire with axial middle line plane parallel to the support plane, defining an abutted lateral portion and a free lateral portion arranged at a specific height with respect to the support plane. A thrust element is configured for applying, to a measurement surface of the free lateral portion, a force directed toward the support plane. A positioning actuator is operatively associated with the thrust element and configured for moving the thrust element with at least one motion component perpendicular to a rotation axis of the tire. The apparatus also includes devices for modifying the angular position of the measurement surface. A control unit is programmed for detecting a first value of output data at each position of the measurement surface as a function of a first value of input data maintained substantially constant along at least one complete rotation of the measurement surface around the rotation axis and for detecting a second value of the output data at each position of the measurement surface. The second value of the output data corresponds with a second value of the input data maintained substantially constant along at least one complete rotation of the measurement surface. The control unit includes a module programmed for calculating, at each position of the measurement surface, a difference between the second value of the output data and the first value of the output data.
