An LCD counter assembly including a housing that houses an LCD display at a first end and a printed circuit board (PCB) assembly at a second end opposite the first end. A diffuser is intermediate the PCB assembly and the LCD display, the LCD display and the PCB assembly in electrical contact with a connector that provides electrical signals from the PCB assembly to the LCD. The first end of the housing includes an aperture through which the LCD display is readily visible to an observer. The PCB assembly may include a backlight to improve the visibility of the LCD display. The PCB assembly further includes a PCB having a printed circuit and a plurality of pads, a single piece, double beam, activation and trigger switch combination assembled to the board, the board configured to receive the double beam activation and trigger switch combination and a removable tab to separate the activation switch in the double beam combination from one of the plurality of pads.

A high density rectangular electrical interconnect is disclosed that includes a plug having a plurality of plug contacts mated to a receptacle having a plurality of spring contacts preloaded with an opening force to reduce mating force. The plurality of plug contacts may be a plurality of pin contacts, printed circuit board traces, or flexible film contacts. The plug and receptacle may include shields and/or shielding material that form a continuous shield around the mated plug and spring contacts.

High density rectangular interconnect

An inventory control system, comprising a blister pack having a pierceable sheet that includes a plurality of printed circuits overlying each of the compartments of the blister pack. The printed circuits are in electrical communication with a connector assembly, the connector assembly being in electrical communication with a removable header. The header is in communication with a microprocessor controlled device having a memory; wherein the microprocessor controlled device determines the contents of the blister pack. The blister pack and connector assembly are removed from the substantially fixed header so the contents can be distributed. As the contents are distributed from the blister pack, the printed circuits are broken. When the connector assembly is reattached to the blister pack, electrical signals transmitted through the connector assembly and the blister pack determines the number of broken circuits, indicative of the contents of the blister pack. The connector assembly is a reusable device that includes a board that provides for electrical communication between the header and the blister pack and also facilitates assembly and removal of the connector to the header.

A rotationally adjustable connector assembly is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a connector housing, a base and a latch connected to the connector housing and the base. The latch is connected at a fixed position with respect to the connector housing. The base is co-axial with the latch, the base and the latch being configured to permit the base to rotate about the latch, such that the base is thereby rotationally adjustable with respect to the connector housing.

Rotationally adjustable connector assembly

An electrical connector including a connector housing and a cable clamp for providing strain relief to a cable that includes wires terminated to contacts within the connector housing is disclosed. The cable clamp includes a midpiece, cable retention fingers, and a rotating clamp. The rotating clamp includes cable tightening ramps that have a generally radial wedge shape that apply a force to the cable retention fingers when the rotating clamp is securely assembled to the midpiece, providing strain relief to the cable. The cable retention fingers may be an integral part of the midpiece or may be provided as a part of a separate component.

A connector apparatus is provided as having an insulated housing and a terminal that is secured inside the insulated housing with locking lances. The locking lances have scalloped edges to ensure that the lances only partially penetrate the housing, but also provide a secure connection to provide an increased retention of the terminal in the housing. Once the terminal is secured within the housing, the terminal is permanently disposed within the housing and cannot easily be removed.

An electrical connector is provided that includes a plurality of contacts having cable engaging ends that are configured to engage respective conductors in corresponding cables. The electrical connector includes a housing that holds the contacts parallel to one another and spaced apart at a predetermined pitch. A cover is mounted on the housing proximate the contacts and is movable between initial and final positions with respect to the housing. The cover has a cavity therein that is configured to receive and align the cables at the predetermined pitch with respect to one another. The cover includes a series of passages there through that align with the cable engaging ends of the contacts such that, when the cover is moved to the final position, the cable engaging ends of the contacts extend through the passages into the cavity to pierce the corresponding cables and engage corresponding conductors. Optionally, the cover may include a solid top wall without passages therethrough. The cavity may include ribs aligned with each cable.
