A method for temporarily sealing a turbocharger compressor outlet and the seal for doing same are disclosed. The seal may include a layer of lubricant, a cover, and a layer of heat-shrink material. The seal creates a temporary water-tight seal around a turbocharger compressor outlet preventing damage to the inside of the turbocharger while the turbocharger is not in use.

The present disclosure is directed to a capsule configured to direct fuel flow within a fuel filter assembly housing. The capsule has a tubular element configured to define a flow path between the capsule and a fuel filter assembly housing. The tubular element defines an interior chamber, a proximal end, and a distal end defining a manifold. The tubular element is configured to be removably received by the fuel filter assembly housing. The interior chamber is configured to receive a fuel filter element. The capsule is configured to direct fuel flow from the proximal end of the capsule, around the tubular element, to a point beyond the distal end of the capsule, and to receive fuel flow from the point beyond the distal end of the capsule and direct the fuel flow via the manifold to the filter element, thereby providing at least two passes of the fuel flow through filter elements within the fuel filter assembly housing.

Systems and methods for filtering fuel

The present disclosure is directed to a manifold for a filter assembly. The manifold includes a first base which may define a first inlet configured to direct fuel flow to a first filter element, and a first outlet configured to direct fuel flow from the first filter element to the second filter element. The manifold includes a second base operably coupled to the first base. The second base may define a barrier which prevents the fuel flow from flowing from the first inlet to the second filter element without passing through the first filter element. The second base may also define a second inlet configured to receive fuel flow from the first outlet and direct the fuel flow to the second filter element, and a second outlet configured to receive the fuel flow from the second filter element.

A manifold for a fuel filter assembly includes a first base, which may define a first inlet passage to direct flow to a first filter element, and a first outlet passage to direct flow from the first filter element to a second base. The manifold includes a second base, which may define a second inlet passage to receive flow from the first base and direct the flow to the second filter element, and a second outlet passage to receive the flow from the second filter element. The manifold includes a diverting module, which may provide flow communication between the first outlet passage and second inlet passage, such that flow in the first inlet passage passes through the first filter element before entering the second inlet passage. The first and second inlet passages may define a common longitudinal axis. The first and second outlet passages may define a common longitudinal axis.

A device for separating gas from liquid includes a housing having an inlet for receiving a flow of liquid and gas. The inlet is positioned such that the flow of liquid and gas enters the housing in a direction substantially tangential to a circumference of an inner surface of the housing. The housing also includes a first outlet for discharging an at least partially gaseous flow from the housing and a second outlet for discharging an at least partially deaerated flow of liquid from the housing. The device also includes a gas separating element disposed inside the housing downstream from the inlet and upstream from the second outlet. The gas separating element forms at least one opening to permit liquid to pass and form the at least partially deaerated flow and to permit the at least partially gaseous flow to separate from the at least partially deaerated flow.
