A technique for interrogating a camera pipeline is disclosed. The camera pipeline is issued a challenge command instructing a response by the camera pipeline. The challenge may include the camera pipeline capturing images at specified camera parameter values. The captured images are analyzed for features corresponding to images captured from a real camera pipeline.

System and methods for camera challenge response to ascertain camera pipeline integrity and to detect digital injections, virtual cameras, and camera pipeline attacks

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for a biometric authentication system. In one aspect, a method includes identifying a target user in proximity to a kiosk. Data for the target user is gathered from equipment on and in proximity to the kiosk. The gathered data is processed to generate a feature vector. The feature vector includes at least motion characteristics of the target user as the target user approaches the kiosk and touch input characteristics of the target user at the kiosk. A candidate user to compare to the target user is determined. Reference data for the candidate user is retrieved. The feature vector is compared to the reference data for the candidate user to determine a likelihood that the target user is the candidate user. A kiosk application is customized for the target user based on the determined likelihood.

Passive identification of a device user

A method includes receiving a first sequence of images of a first subject captured over a time period in which relative locations of the image acquisition device with respect to the first subject varies. A first image and a second image are selected as representing a first and second relative locations, respectively, of the image acquisition device with respect to the first subject. A first set of points and a second set of points are generated in a three-dimensional space, using the first image and the second image as a stereo pair, the first and second sets of points representing the first subject, and a background, respectively. It is determined that a difference between a first depth associated with the first set of points, and a second depth associated with the second set of points satisfies a threshold condition, and in response, access to a secure system is prevented.

Spoof detection by generating 3D point clouds from captured image frames

Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for determining that a subject is a live person include capturing a set of images of a subject instructed to perform a facial expression. A region of interest for the facial expression is determined in a first image of the set, the first image representing a first facial state that includes the facial expression. A set of facial features is identified in the region of interest, the facial features being indicative of interaction between facial muscles and skin of the subject due to the subject performing the facial expression. A determination is made, based on the facial features, that the first image substantially matches a template image of the facial expression of the subject. Responsive to determining that the first image substantially matches the template image, identifying the subject as a live person.

Spoof detection based on challenge response analysis

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a method for identifying a user of secured system. The method includes transmitting, using a first transceiver in an array of multiple transceivers, a first electromagnetic signal in the microwave range. An electromagnetic signal representing a first response of a portion of a subject to the first electromagnetic signal is received, by at least one transceiver of the array of multiple transceivers. The subject is identified based at least in part on one or more parameters of the first response.

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a method that includes obtaining, by one or more image acquisition devices, a first image of a portion of a human body under illumination by electromagnetic radiation in a first wavelength range, and obtaining a second image of the portion of the human body under illumination by electromagnetic radiation in a second wavelength range. The method also includes generating, by one or more processing devices, a third image or template that combines information from the first image with information from the second image. In one aspect, a method includes receiving a selection from a user representing a first individual to prevent identification data to be transmitted by an on-body device, transmitting an identification request to the on-body device associated with the first individual, receiving an indication that a second individual possesses the on-body device associated with the first individual, sending a command to the on-body device associated with the first individual to prevent transmitting the identification data stored on the on-body device associated with the first individual.

The technology described in this document can be embodied in a computer-implemented method that includes receiving, at one or more servers from a first computing device, (i) first identification information identifying the first computing device or an application executing on the first computing device, and (ii) second identification information identifying a second computing device. The second identification information is obtained by the first computing device by detecting changes to one or more parameters of a magnetic field generated by the second computing device. The method also includes determining, by the server based on the first information, identity information of a user associated with the first computing device, and transmitting, from the one or more servers to the second computing device, the identity information, such that the identity information is usable by the second computing device to verify an access attempt by the user.

Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for determining that a subject is a live person include obtaining a first image captured using a first camera disposed on a first side of a mobile device and obtaining a second image captured using a second camera disposed on a second side of the mobile device that is on the opposite side of the first side. The first image includes a representation of reflections visible on the corneas of a subject. The first image and the second image are pre-processing to generate a third image and a fourth image, respectively, where a first field of view represented in the third image at least partially overlaps with a second field of view of the fourth image. A determination is made, based on the third and fourth images, that a scene represented in the first field of view is substantially same as a scene represented in the second field of view. Responsive to determining that the scene represented in the first field of view is substantially same as the scene represented in the second field of view, identifying the subject as a live person.

Spoof detection by correlating images captured using front and back cameras of a mobile device

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for capacitive through-body communication. In one aspect, a method includes capturing, from capacitive through-body communication with an on-body device worn by an individual, a biometric template comprising identification data associated with the individual, comparing the captured identification data of the captured biometric template with reference identification data of a stored biometric template associated with the individual, determining that the captured identification data matches the reference identification data of the stored biometric template; and authenticating identification of the individual.

A method for detecting adverse conditions associated with a device includes receiving, at one or more processing devices at one or more locations, one or more image frames; receiving a set of signals representing outputs of one or more sensors of a device; estimating, based on the one or more image frames, a first set of one or more motion values; estimating, based on the set of signals, a second set of one or more motion values; determining that a degree of correlation between (i) a first motion represented by the first set of one or more motion values and (ii) a second motion represented by the second set of one or more motion values fails to satisfy a threshold condition; and in response to determining that the degree of correlation fails to satisfy the threshold condition, determining presence of an adverse condition associated with the device.
