Systems and devices for an RF signal carrying cable of a multi-pack launcher system

A lidar system, including a base, a sensor body, and a motor having a shaft. The motor is affixed to the base, and can drive the sensor body in rotation with respect to the base. An LED device and a light sensor are each mounted upon the sensor body. A data processing device is also mounted upon the sensor body, and is programmed to produce range information based upon the sensor data. The shaft carries two slip rings. The LED, the sensor and the data processing device all receive electrical power via the two slip rings. The data processing device is configured to transmit the range information via the two slip rings using pulse width modulation.

Rotating lidar

A transceiver assembly is provided for use in an optical telecommunications network. The circuitry arrangement in the transceiver of the present invention generates a ranging signal that is transmitted along the fibers attached thereto and then filters the return signal in an manner that eliminates virtually all of the noise effects found on the fiber to provide a highly reliable timing signal for an accurate delay calculation. A band pass filter is supplied in line before the input signal is allowed to pass to the ranging signal detector and comparator thereby allowing only a signal at the fundamental frequency of the input signal to pass, thereby eliminating false signal detect triggers.

Method for detecting a signal on a passive optical network

A receiver assembly for use in an optical telecommunications network is provided that automatically generates a reference level for the incoming signal burst based on its preamble without the need to pre-process the entire signal burst. The entire signal burst is fed directly from the TIA into the input of the limiting amplifier. A differential amplifier, tapped from the data and data bar outputs of the limiting amplifier, samples the signal stream to capture the preamble portion of each signal burst. The preamble portion of the signal burst is then passed, post amplification, into a sample and hold circuit. The sample and hold circuit samples the amplitude of this preamble portion of the signal and then holds the sampled level for use as a reference level for the processing of following payload signal.

Burst mode receiver for passive optical network

A door obstacle sensor in which an optical transmitter and a receiver are located on the same side of an entranceway, and a retroreflector is placed on the opposite side. A controller measures the time of flight of a light beam that is reflected from the retroreflective target. All future target distances are compared to the initial distance, and a decision is made as to an object being present in or absent from the entranceway.

Door obstacle sensor

An optical signal receiver system provides for five (5) signals, namely VCC, Ground, RPM (Receiver input Power Monitor), Data, and Data Bar outputs, using only the four external pins of a conventional TO-style can package. To provide for five signals on only four pins, two of the output signals are superimposed on each other in which one has a DC value (RPM) and one has an AC value (Data or Data Bar). Once the combined signal comes out of the TO can, the combined signal can be separated into two separate signals using a capacitor which blocks the DC signal (Data or Data Bar) and allows the AC signal to go through. The DC information is then extracted by filtering the AC information from the combined signal with a Current Sense Circuit.

Optical signal receiver with RPM, data and data bar output

Electro-optical measurement of distance and motion parameters of a target is obtained with high resolution by employing matched comparators for obtaining differences in arrival times of transmit and receive pulses, and by compensating for time delays introduced by system components.
