Methods, systems, and apparatus for liquid coolant replacement in a cooling distribution unit during operation of the cooling distribution unit. Active liquid coolant to be replaced is removed from the flow cycle of the cooling distribution unit while the coolant distribution unit is operational and providing cooling to an electronic system. Additionally, replacement liquid coolant is provided to the flow cycle while the coolant distribution unit is operational and providing cooling to an electronic system.

Continuous feed liquid coolant replacement

A heat exchanger includes a first manifold having an inlet opening and a second manifold having an outlet opening. A group of conduits fluidly connect the first manifold and the second manifold to one another such that a flow path is established for liquid to flow from the inlet opening to the outlet opening. The flow path includes a select portion that extends through all conduits within the group of conduits. Valves are located in the first manifold and the second manifold. The valves are operable to change the select portion of the flow path from between a first state, wherein the conduits within group of conduits are fluidly connected in parallel with one another, and a second state, wherein the conduits within the group of conduits are fluidly connected in series with one another.

Modular liquid cooling architecture for liquid cooling

A system includes a central supply line and a central return line connected to a fluid source of cooling liquid. A rack supply manifold is connected to the central supply line. A rack return manifold is connected to the central return line. A liquid cooling loop assembly may be coupled to at least one cooling device connected to a circuit board. Multiple inlet connectors may be connected to the rack supply manifold. Multiple outlet connectors may be connected to the rack return manifold. The multiple inlet connectors provide a passageway for the cooling liquid from the central supply line into the liquid cooling loop assembly for distribution to the at least one cooling device. The multiple outlet connectors provide a passageway to the rack return manifold for the cooling liquid exiting the at least one cooling device.
