A spinal construct includes a coupling member including a first mating surface engageable with an existing fastener implant. The existing fastener implant being connected with an existing spinal rod implant. A connector is engageable with the existing fastener implant and has a rod extending therefrom. A locking member is engageable with a second mating surface of the coupling member. Systems, surgical instruments, implants and methods are disclosed.

Spinal implant system and method

A spinal rod with multiple sections having eccentric centers for use in a spinal fixation device is disclosed. The spinal rod may include a first longitudinal portion and a second longitudinal portion adjoined together by a transition portion. The first longitudinal portion may extend along a first longitudinal axis that extends lengthwise through a center of the first longitudinal portion and the second longitudinal portion may extend along a second longitudinal axis that extends lengthwise through a center of the second longitudinal portion. The transition portion may be configured to transition from the first cross-section to the second cross-section such that the first longitudinal axis is offset with respect to the second longitudinal axis. In at least some embodiments, a first outside surface of the first longitudinal portion may extend along a co-extensive plane with a second outside surface of the second longitudinal portion.

Spinal rod with multiple sections having eccentric centers

A bone fastener comprises a head including a first receiver that defines an implant cavity and a second receiver that defines an implant cavity. The first receiver is connected to the second receiver. A shaft is aligned with the first receiver and configured to engage tissue. A part is disposed within the implant cavity of the second receiver and movable relative thereto in a selected plane of a body. Systems, surgical instruments, spinal constructs, implants and methods are disclosed.

A spinal construct includes a coupling member including a first mating surface engageable with an existing fastener implant. The existing fastener implant defines a cavity configured for disposal of an existing spinal rod implant. A connector is engageable with the existing fastener implant and has a rod extending therefrom. A locking member is engageable with a second mating surface of the coupling member. Systems, surgical instruments, implants and methods are disclosed.

A spinal implant includes a receiver having a first arm connected to a first extension and a second arm connected to a second extension. The arms are connected to the extensions via a break away surface. The arms include a proximal most end surface and the receiver includes an implant receiving surface. The proximal most end surface and the implant receiving surface defining an implant cavity. The break away surface is disposed within the implant cavity. In some embodiments, systems, spinal constructs and methods are disclosed.

A surgical instrument includes a member including a body engageable with a longitudinal element to fix the longitudinal element with the body. The member further includes a distal portion having a guide including an arcuate surface being engageable with the longitudinal element. An actuator is connected with the member to incrementally tension the longitudinal element. Surgical systems, implants, spinal constructs and methods are disclosed.

Surgical instrument and method

A driver includes a sleeve having an inner surface defining a passageway. The sleeve extends along a longitudinal axis between a proximal end and an opposite distal end. The proximal end includes a groove in the inner surface. A biasing element is positioned partially in the groove. A shaft is disposed in the passageway. The shaft includes an outer surface, a first engagement portion, and a second engagement portion.

Multi-purpose screwdriver and method of use

A system for stabilization of the spinal column, including an elongate support member extending along an axis and a plurality of anchor members configured for anchoring to respective vertebrae. A first of the anchor members is engaged to the support member in a manner that substantially prevents axial movement of the support member relative to the first anchor member, and a second of the anchor members is engaged to the support member in a manner that allows substantially unconstrained axial movement of the support member relative to the second anchor member. In a further embodiment, a third of the anchor members is engaged to the support member in a manner that also allows substantially unconstrained axial movement of the support member relative to the third anchor member, with the second and third anchor members positioned on opposite sides of the first anchor member.
