An improved coin chute assembly wherein the housing contains a coin receiving opening, a first coin exit opening, a second coin exit opening, and a coin passageway disposed therein and interconnecting the coin receiving opening with the first and second coin exit openings. The coin passageway is characterized as having an upper coin path, a coin receiving section and a coin reject section, the upper coin path being oriented to permit a coin to fall in a substantially downward direction through the chute assembly and thus through the coin receiving section towards the first coin exit opening or through the coin reject section towards the second coin exit opening. A coil having a coin slot formed therethrough is positioned around the upper coin path such that an object traveling through the upper coin path passes through the coin slot. A gate assembly is movably disposed in a portion of the coin path for blocking movement of a coin through the coin receiving section of the coin path in one position and directing the coin into the coin reject section; or for permitting movement of the coin into and through the coin receiving section while blocking movement of the coin through the coin reject section.

Coin chute assembly

An improved coin chute assembly wherein the housing contains a coin receiving opening, a first coin exit opening, a second coin exit opening, and a coin passageway disposed therein and interconnecting the coin receiving opening with the first and second coin exit openings. The coin passageway is characterized as having an upper coin path, a coin receiving section and a coin reject section, the upper coin path being oriented to permit a coin to fall in a substantially downward direction through the chute assembly and thus through the coin receiving section towards the first coin exit opening or through the coin reject section towards the second coin exit opening. A gate assembly is movably disposed in a portion of the coin path for blocking movement of a coin through the coin receiving section of the coin path in one position and directing the coin into the coin reject section; or for permitting movement of the coin into and through the coin receiving section while blocking movement of the coin through the coin reject section.

Coin separator assembly

A coin release assembly for selectively removing a coin element from a coin tube retaining a plurality of coin elements, the coin tube having a coin exit end with a coin exit opening formed through the coin exit end to permit discharge of the coin elements therethrough, the assembly comprising a base plate having an opening extending therethrough, the opening in the base plate being offset with respect to the coin exit opening of the coin tube such that a portion of the base plate supports the coin elements within the coin tube, and a coin ejecting assembly movable from a first position to a second position, the coin ejecting assembly engagable with a lowermost coin element supported in the coin tube by the base plate for moving the engaged coin element to the opening in the base plate for discharging the coin element through the opening in the base plate.

An improved slip ring and brush assembly such as for carrying the return signal pulse to a glow discharge tube on a rotating disc sonar. The rotating disc is made of insulating material and has a cylindrical hub which is adapted to fit over a corresponding hub on a motor shaft. Annular slip rings made of conductive plastic are adapted to slip over the cylindrical hub and are indexed against relative rotation by means of cylindrical bulges or projections on opposite sides of the hub. These projections serve to carry the electrical connections, in the form of threaded screws and springs that are adapted to contact the slip rings, one set for one slip ring, and the other for the other slip ring. The slip rings are separated by thin insulating washers of larger diameter than the rings. The brushes are made of graphite fibers and have excellent flexibility, conductivity and long life.

Commutator and fiber brush rotating disc

An improved brush holder for use in a rectilinear recorder which utilizes a web of electrical recording paper, which passes across, and in contact with a plane metal back-up plate. A narrow belt loop is supported by a pair of spaced rollers and is driven in a direction transverse to the longitudinal motion of the recording strip or web. One linear portion of the loop of the belt is parallel to and spaced a small distance from the plane of the metal back-up plate. The belt is of insulating material and has attached to it an electrical contact means which is a metal plate fastened to the belt and transverse to the axis of the belt and is long enough to extend some distance on each side of the belt. An electrical contact plate is mounted in the plane of the back-up plate and spaced from it. The belt is positioned so that the two ends of the contact plate extend respectively over the back-up plate and the electrical contact plate. A wire contact brush is removably attached to the contact plate with the improved brush holder. The wire brush has two ends, one of which engages the paper, and the other engages the electrical contact plate, so that as the belt moves transverse to the paper, which is in contact with the back-up plate, the electrical potential on the electrical contact plate is transferred by the wire brush to the paper.
