An internal slip connector useful for attaching tools or other devices to the inside wall of a conduit, the connector having a mandrel with a head end, a threaded end, a reduced-diameter shaft section disposed between the head end and the threaded end, two abutting slip segments loosely disposed around the mandrel between the head end and an upper extending portion of the threaded end, and a nut threaded onto the mandrel below the slip segments. When tightened following insertion of the slip segments into the conduit, the nut causes the slip segments to slide radially outward along an oblique interface between them. Gripping surfaces disposed on the outside of the slip segments are thereby pressed into engagement with the inside wall of the conduit. The internal slip connector can be used with coiled tubing of various wall thicknesses and is easily released after loosening the threaded nut.

Internal slip connector

A self-adjusting nozzle for use in injecting pressurized, and optionally pulsating, fluid into a well bore or other conduit for the purpose of cleaning out the bore or conduit, the nozzle having slidably engaged mandrel and tool tip sections, each with an axial bore, and the tool tip having a plurality of axially and circumferentially spaced discharge ports communicating with the axial bores, the mandrel being able to reciprocate inside the tool tip without operator intervention in response to obstructions encountered ahead of, around or behind the nozzle as it enters or leaves the well bore or conduit, thereby sequentially blocking or unblocking some of the discharge ports to direct more of the pressurized fluid against the obstruction.

Self-adjusting nozzle

A drill bit sub attachable to a drilling string above the drill bit, the sub having an oscillation chamber with at least two radially and axially spaced, annular impingement surfaces interconnected by an inclined annular surface. The oscillation chamber is preferably coaxially aligned and in fluid communication with upper and tubular bores that each have diameters less than the diameter of the chamber. The oscillation chamber preferably has a diameter from about three to about five times the diameter of the upper tubular bore and a height between 1.6 and 5.6 times the diameter of the upper tubular bore. The diameter of the lower tubular bore is preferably about 1.3 times the diameter of the upper tubular bore.

Self-excited drill bit sub

A self-excited jet stimulation tool for cleaning and stimulating wells includes an elongated tubular first member adapted on an upper end for connection to a running string. The first member includes an upper portion with a central bore open to a top of the tool, and a lower portion having a cylindrical shaped cavity open to a bottom surface of the first member. The cylindrical cavity is internally threaded in a lower portion. The central bore of the first member is open to the cylindrical cavity for communication of fluids supplied by the running string. The tool further includes an elongated tubular second member having a top with a central flat circular portion and a central bore with a diameter larger than the diameter of the central bore of the first member but less than the diameter of the cylindrical cavity of the first member. A conical shoulder extends downwardly and outwardly away from the central flat circular central portion and terminates in a flat annular ledge extending beyond the termination of the conical shoulder. An upper portion of the second member is externally threaded and receivable in the internally threaded lower portion of the first member. The second member has a lower nose portion with at least one discharge port connected by a passageway to the central bore of the second member. When the tool is assembled with the upper portion of the second member threadedly engaged in the lower portion of the first member an internal oscillation chamber is formed therein.
