Provided is a device for cleaning exhaust air from a printing device by means of a heat exchanger. The device is configured to operate the heat exchanger in a standard phase such that an output temperature of the exhaust air exhibits a standard value such that hydrocarbons are condensed out of the exhaust air. The device is also configured to operate the heat exchanger in a regeneration phase such that the output temperature of the exhaust air exhibits a value. The value is reduced relative to the standard value, such that water is condensed out of the exhaust air.

Device and method for cleaning exhaust air

In a method and device for drying a printed recording medium, a printed recording medium is introduced into a heated first chamber in which a temperature suitable for drying the recording medium and a first pressure are set. The printed recording medium is also introduced into a second chamber in which a second temperature that is suitable for cooling the recording medium for a further processing and a second pressure are set. The first pressure can be provided to be lower than the second pressure.

In an method for double-sided printing to a recording medium, a first side of the recording medium is printed to with a liquid first color separation, the liquid first color separation is pre-dried such that a predetermined final drying state remains unachieved, where the pre-dried state is a transportable intermediate state that is between a wet print image directly after printing and the predetermined final drying state, a second side of the recording medium is printed to with a liquid second color separation, and the pre-dried first color separation and the second liquid color separation are jointly dried to entirely achieve the predetermined final drying state for both the first and second color separations.

Method and device for double-sided printing to a recording medium

Methods and devices for digital printing to a recording medium are described. The printing can use a liquid print ink that includes a flammable carrier. Print control data can be generated from print data and the print control data can activate one or more print groups to print to the recording medium. An areal coverage can be determined based on the print control data. The areal coverage corresponds to a quantity of color applied onto the recording medium. The determined areal coverage can be limited to a predetermined maximum average areal coverage within a predetermined averaging area. The predetermined maximum average areal coverage can be less than a maximum theoretical areal coverage. The recording medium can be heated in, for example, a heating chamber. The predetermined averaging area can be smaller than an area of the recording medium located within the heating chamber.

Method and device for digital printing to a recording medium with liquid ink

A method and device for digital printing to a recording medium with liquid print color is described. In a method for digital printing, a print image defined by print data is printed onto the recording medium via application of the liquid print color. After the application of the liquid print color onto the recording medium, the recording medium can be heated to vaporize the carrier fluid. Upon heating, air is supplied that mixes with the vapor to form a combustible gas. The combustible gas can be supplied to a combustion chamber and converted into waste gas. In a method for digital printing, an areal coverage can be determined. The areal coverage describes a quantity of color applied onto the recording medium by the carrier fluid. Further, the air supply can be proportionally controlled to the determined areal coverage.

In a device or method to fix print images on a recording material, a printing fluid comprising a carrier fluid and chromophoric solid particles are applied to the recording material, the chromophoric solid particles being applied in a form of the print images to be fixed. Hot waste gas and infrared radiation are generated with aid of a porous burner. The infrared radiation is directed towards the recording material in a drying chamber such that the carrier fluid polymerizes or is vaporized, whereby a gaseous air/oil mixture arises in the drying chamber. The air/oil mixture is influenced with aid of the hot waste gas of the porous burner.
