Herein is described a liquid electrophotographic ink composition including a carrier liquid and a resin including an acid copolymer and an acrylate copolymer, wherein the acrylate copolymer includes at least about 30 wt. % of the alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer.

Liquid electrophotographic ink composition

In an example, a method includes forming a print agent pattern on an image forming surface and transferring the print agent pattern from the image forming surface to an intermediate transfer member. In a first mode of operation in which a printable substrate is not between the intermediate transfer member and a cleanable medium, the print agent pattern may be transferred from the intermediate transfer member to the cleanable medium and then cleaned from the cleanable medium. In a second mode of operation, the printable substrate may be provided between the intermediate transfer member and the cleanable medium, and the same print agent pattern or a different print agent pattern may be transferred from the intermediate transfer member to the printable substrate.

The present disclosure discloses a liquid electrophotographic ink. The ink can include (A) a liquid vehicle; (B) at least one colorant; (C) a resin comprising an ethylene acid copolymer; (D) an ethylene/(meth)acrylic acid C1-10 alkyl ester copolymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene/methyl acrylate copolymer and an ethylene/butyl acrylate copolymer; and (E) a condensation product of urea and aldehyde.

Herein is disclosed a liquid electrostatic ink composition. The composition may comprise a liquid carrier having dispersed therein: chargeable particles comprising a thermoplastic resin having acidic side groups; and globular particles comprising a hydrocarbon having a drop point, measured according to ASTM D3954-15, of at least 120&#xb0; C., the globular particles having a D50 of from 2 &#x3bc;m to 7 &#x3bc;m and a D90 of 10 &#x3bc;m or less, the D50 and D90 being measured in the liquid carrier using laser diffraction and volume distribution, in accordance with ISO13220.

Electrostatic ink compositions

Herein is described a liquid electrostatic printing method comprising providing a liquid electrostatic ink composition comprising a carrier liquid and chargeable particles comprising a resin; and providing an adhesion promoting composition comprising an adhesion promoter. The liquid electrostatic ink composition is contacted with a latent electrostatic image disposed on a surface to create a developed ink image. The developed ink image is transferred to an intermediate transfer member. The adhesion promoting composition is deposited on the intermediate transfer member to form an adhesion promoting layer. The adhesion promoting layer and the developed ink image are transferred to a print substrate, such that the adhesion promoting layer is disposed on the print substrate and the developed ink image is disposed on the adhesion promoting layer.

Liquid electrostatic printing method

Provided in one example herein is a liquid electrophotographic ink composition. The composition includes a charge director, a non-polar carrier fluid comprising a polymer; and ink particles each including a polymeric resin and a pigment dispersed in the resin. The ink composition also includes a tackifier.

Ink composition

This disclosure relates to a liquid electrophotographic composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer resin, a charge adjuvant, microspheres, and a liquid carrier. Each microsphere comprises a shell of material encapsulating a gas. The microspheres are present in an amount of 5 to 90 weight % of the total weight of solids in the composition.

A printer includes an image formation portion, a feed portion, and a transfer portion. The image formation portion transfers formed first and second patterned marking agent layers from a photoconductor member onto an intermediate transfer member. The feed portion directs a portion of a foil layer to become adhered, according to the pattern, onto the first marking agent layer on the intermediate transfer member before the second marking agent layer is transferred onto, and becomes adhered to, the foil portion. The transfer portion causes transfer of the foil portion from the intermediate transfer member, via transfer of at least the second marking agent layer from the intermediate transfer member, onto a substrate.

Also disclosed herein is a substrate on which is electrostatically printed a conductive trace, wherein the trace comprises a resin and an elongate conductive species. Further disclosed herein is a method of electrophotographic printing an electrostatic ink composition comprising a resin and an elongate conductive species.

Herein is disclosed an electrostatic ink composition comprising a resin and a conductive pigment, wherein the resin comprises a co-polymer formed from an alkylene monomer, an acrylic ester monomer and a maleic anhydride monomer, wherein, in some examples, the acrylic ester monomer constitutes at least about 8 wt % of the co-polymer. Herein is also disclosed a print substrate having printed thereon an electrostatic ink comprising a resin and a conductive pigment, wherein the resin comprises a co-polymer formed from an alkylene monomer, an acrylic ester monomer and a maleic anhydride monomer, wherein, in some examples, the acrylic ester monomer constitutes at least about 8 wt % of the co-polymer.

Described herein is an electrostatic ink composition comprising a liquid carrier; and chargeable particles comprising a co-polymer of an alkylene monomer and an acrylic acid monomer, and a pearlescent, non-metallic pigment, wherein the chargeable particles are dispersed in the liquid carrier. Also described herein are a method of electrophotographic printing and a print substrate.
