A direct current (DC) link capacitor operable within an electrically drivable vehicle having a high-voltage battery is provided configured to facilitate output of a DC voltage to an inverter configured to process the DC voltage to facilitate powering an electric motor used to drive the vehicle. The DC link capacitor includes a housing enclosing capacitive elements configured to facilitate capacitive processing between an input and an output, at least a first pair of terminals configured to deliver the DC voltage to the input, the capacitive elements processing the DC voltage received at the input into a capacitive DC voltage, and at least a second pair of terminals configured to output the capacitive DC voltage to the inverter, the inverter relying on the capacitive DC voltage to facilitate powering the electric motor.

Power module cooling system

An electric connector includes a terminal body defining an interior space. An electric contact is located within the internal space. The electric contact includes a base contact ring that is biased into engagement with the terminal body and an outer ring that is biased into engagement with the terminal body. A contact arm extends from the base contact ring to the outer ring.

A charger assembly is provided with a housing having a cavity with an opening. A cover is fastened to the housing for covering the opening. A heat transfer duct is mounted to the cover with an inlet end and an outlet end each extending through the cover. A plurality of heat sinks is mounted to the cover in contact with the heat transfer duct. A plurality of circuit board assemblies are each mounted to the cover in contact with the plurality of heat sinks.

A cooling system is operable to facilitate cooling a power module or other electronic assembly. The cooling system may be configured to facilitate cooling a DC/AC inverter or other electronic assembly where two power modules may be arranged in an opposing relationship relative to a coolant passageway. The opposing relationship may be suitable to minimizing a packaging size and footprint required to facilitate interacting both power modules with the coolant flow.

An electrical connector includes an electrical terminal and a housing having a front end and a back end with an opening configured to receive the electrical terminal therethrough. The housing includes a first lock system configured to allow insertion of the electrical terminal into the housing and prohibit removal of the electrical terminal from the housing. The housing is configured such that the first lock system is accessible from the front of the housing to release the electrical terminal from the first lock system. A second lock system is configured for insertion into the housing to prohibit removal of the electrical terminal from the housing independently from the first lock system.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector includes an electrical terminal and a housing having a front end and a back end with an opening configured to receive the electrical terminal. The housing includes a first lock system configured to allow insertion of the electrical terminal into the housing and prohibit removal of the electrical terminal from the housing. It also includes a tapered surface and for guiding the electrical terminal to a desired position when the electrical terminal is inserted into the housing. A second lock system cooperates with the housing in a lock position for prohibiting removal of the electrical terminal from the housing. It also cooperates with the housing in a pre-lock position wherein a tapered surface of the second lock system is configured to cooperate with the tapered surface of the housing for guiding the electrical terminal to the desired position when the electrical terminal is inserted into the housing.

A terminal is provided with a body sized to be received within a receptacle. A distal region extends lengthwise from the body in a receptacle direction. At least one portion of the distal region extends centrally inward into the receptacle to receive a pin to deform and maintain contact with the received pin. A lengthwise extending proximal region is connected to the body and spaced apart from the distal region. At least one portion of the proximal region extends radially outward to engage a side wall of the receptacle to enhance contact of the terminal with the receptacle. A receptacle assembly is provided for receiving one or a plurality of terminals.

Electrical terminal and receptacle assembly

A terminal has a body sized to be received within a receptacle. An intermediate region extends lengthwise from the body in a receptacle direction. At least one portion of the intermediate region extends centrally inward into the receptacle to receive a pin to deform and maintain contact with the received pin. A retention member is provided on a distal end of the central extending portion to engage an inner wall of the receptacle and, during deformation, to extend along the wall thereby providing a reaction force to the at least one portion of the intermediate region to enhance contact with the pin and to enhance contact with the receptacle. A receptacle assembly is provided for receiving one or plurality of terminals.
