Thermoplastic compounds in the form of a pellet include thermoplastic resin and conductive fibers. The conductive fibers are enveloped by the thermoplastic resin and distributed within the pellet such that each of at least a portion of the conductive fibers is substantially surrounded by the thermoplastic resin and thereby substantially separated from physical contact with any other of the conductive fibers. Additionally, at least a portion of the conductive fibers includes long fibers. The thermoplastic compound, when molded at a thickness of about 3.2 mm, has an electromagnetic shielding effectiveness across a range of frequencies from about 0.5 GHz to about 2.0 GHz of at least about 60 dB according to ASTM D4935, which makes the thermoplastic compound useful for molding thermoplastic articles for shielding against electromagnetic interference.

Conductive long fiber thermoplastic compounds for electromagnetic shielding

A stain resistant coating composition can include: (a) a polyester polyol; (b) a silicone component having at least one reactive functional group; and (c) a crosslinker reactive with (a) and (b). The polyester polyol can include a reaction product obtained from a mixture of reactants including: an aliphatic diol; a polyol having 3 or more hydroxyl groups; and an aliphatic cyclic polycarboxylic acid, or an anhydride or ester thereof, that is greater than 10 mole % of the total carboxylic acids, or anhydrides or esters thereof, used to prepare the polyester.

A stain resistant, soft touch coating composition can include: (a) a fluoropolymer comprising at least one reactive functional group; (b) a polyester polyol; and (c) a crosslinker reactive with (a) and (b). The polyester polyol can include a reaction product obtained from a mixture of reactants including: an aliphatic diol; a polyol having 3 or more hydroxyl groups; and a cyclic polycarboxylic acid, or an anhydride or ester thereof.

An alkoxysilane functionalized polysiloxane polymer can be prepared from a mixture of reactants including: a) a polysiloxane polymer having two or more reactive functional groups selected from -A-NH, -A-OH, -A-N&#x2550;C&#x2550;O, -A-COOH, or combinations thereof; and b) at least one alkoxysilane having a functional group that is reactive with the reactive functional groups on the polysiloxane polymer. The alkoxysilane functionalized polysiloxane polymer can be combined with additional components to form a coating composition.

A crosslinkable, branched polyester prepared by free radical polymerization of unsaturated polyester prepolymers, wherein the polymerization occurs primarily by reaction of the unsaturation is disclosed. Coatings comprising the same are also disclosed, as are substrates coated at least in part with such coatings.
