A method is applied to a ring link, where the ring link includes a first node, a second node, a third node, and a fourth node in sequence. According to the method, the first node receives first traffic, where the first node is a source node that sends the first traffic on the ring link; and the first node sends the first traffic to the third node, where two reachable paths with equal hop counts are included from the first node to the third node, the first node sends the first traffic to the third node on a preset first transmission path, the first transmission path passes through the second node, and the first transmission path is one of the two reachable paths with equal hop counts. This method can reduce computing load of nodes while implementing non-blocking switching of traffic between the nodes.

A queue flushing method includes scanning, by a queue flushing processor, a flushing status of a valid queue from a queue information table to determine a target queue whose flushing status is 'to be flushed' in the queue information table, where the queue information table records the flushing status of the valid queue; modifying, by the queue flushing processor, the flushing status of the target queue to 'start flushing'; and flushing, by the queue flushing processor, the target queue, where the flushing status of the target queue is modified to &#x201c;flushing complete&#x201d; after the target queue is flushed.

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a signal order-preserving method and apparatus. When data of a request signal that comes from a corresponding first upstream device is written into a first first input first output (FIFO) memory, invalid data is written into a second FIFO memory corresponding to a second upstream device in a same clock cycle; and the data of the request signal is read from the first FIFO memory, the invalid data is read from the second FIFO memory, the invalid data is discarded, and the data of the request signal is conveyed to a downstream device. Through the signal order-preserving method and apparatus in the embodiments of the present invention, the coupling extent between devices on which there is an order-preserving requirement is reduced while signal order-preserving is achieved.
