Disclosed are systems and methods for improving interactions with and between computers in a content system supported by or configured with personal computing devices, servers and/or platforms. The systems interact to identify and retrieve data across platforms, which data can be used to improve the quality of data used in processing interactions between or among processors in such systems. The disclosed systems and methods determine a breaking news story and track breaking developments in such story. The present disclosure can construct a breaking news storyline from the developments in the detected breaking news story, whereby a user can view the storyline as individual breaking news messages or as a complete timeline of events displayed on a provided page.

Disclosed is a method and system for transmitting, by a processor to a client device, a software application (e.g., a mobile app or a web page) configured to load, by a computer processor of the client device, a graphical user interface (GUI), the GUI including a header space and a content display space. The software application is further configured to display, by the computer processor, the GUI in a first frame, detect, by the computer processor, user interaction with content displayed in the content display space of the GUI, compare, by the computer processor, the user interaction with a set of stored user interactions, and, based on the comparing, change, by the computer processor, the header space in the GUI in the first frame.

Computerized notification system and method for delivering breaking news content

The present disclosure provides a method for content object optimization. The method includes selecting an object user; obtaining content objects; determining a ranking of the content objects; determining a rotation value; presenting the content objects based on the ranking and rotation value; obtaining feedback associated with the content objects, the feedback obtained at least partially from one or more remote user systems over a communication network; determining empirical scores for the content objects; obtaining behavioral data of an observer user; determining behavioral scores for at least one of the content objects based on the behavioral data; determining a composite score for the at least one of the content objects based on empirical and behavioral scores; updating the ranking based on the composite score(s); presenting at least one of the content objects to the observer user based on the updated ranking.

Systems and methods for content object optimization

Techniques for providing location-based recommendations are described. Some embodiments provide a Location-Based Recommendation System ('LRBS') that provides recommendations regarding physical places based on content items, such as Web pages, user reviews, directory listings, or the like, that describe or otherwise reference those places. In one embodiment, the LBRS is configured to, in response to an indication of a first place, determine one or more other places that are similar to the first place, and then provide indications of the determined places as recommendations to a user or other entity. In another embodiment, the LBRS is configured to, in response to an indication of a user, determine one or more places that may be of interest to the user, and then provide indications of the determined places as recommendations. In some embodiments, the LBRS may determine recommendations based on content vectors associated with places and/or users.
