A gas analysis system for a vehicle includes a measurement chamber that includes at least one sensor configured for measuring substances in exhalations from vehicle occupants and/or the ambient air in a vehicle interior. The gas analysis system may also include at least one fan placed at a discharge opening for the system and designed to convey air through the measurement chamber, at least one filter located at an intake opening in the system and designed to prevent particles from contaminating the system; at least one first check valve, located between the measurement chamber and the fan, and designed to block a return-flow of the air out of the measurement chamber and/or ambient air from the vehicle interior into the measurement chamber, and a control unit, designed to regulate and/or control the conveyance of air through the measurement chamber.

A method of communicating with a vehicle repair facility includes a server receiving from a vehicle an indication that the vehicle requires repair and receiving from the vehicle communication regarding a vehicle location. The server determines a vehicle repair facility as corresponding to the vehicle location and determines contact information for the vehicle repair facility. The server then contacts the vehicle repair facility via the contact information with a message regarding repairs required for the vehicle, wherein the message includes a request for confirmation from the vehicle repair facility to verify use of authentic parts for the repairs required for the vehicle. The server can also determine user contact information for the registered user of the vehicle, and contact the registered user with a message regarding repairs required for the vehicle and a request for the user to verify use of authentic parts for the repairs required for the vehicle.

System and method for communicating with a vehicle repair facility or a user of a vehicle regarding approved parts

A method for detecting non-approved parts in a vehicle includes generating a plurality of component identifiers (IDs) for a plurality of components, wherein each component ID identifies a unique component of the plurality of components. The component IDs are stored to a decentralized database. A vehicle identifier (ID) that uniquely identifies a vehicle is generated and stored to the decentralized database. Component IDs associated with components of the vehicle that are stored in the decentralized data base are associated with the vehicle ID. The method includes subsequently, determining that a component of the vehicle has been replaced with a replacement component and searching the decentralized database for a component ID associated with the replacement component. When the component ID associated with the replacement component is not found, the replacement component is determined to be a counterfeit component or a misfit component with respect to the vehicle's ID and an alert is issued to the vehicle indicative of the determination. Otherwise when the component ID associated with the replacement component is found, the decentralized database is updated to associate the component ID associated with the replacement component with the vehicle ID.
