A guitar string, in which an end of the string element is threaded into an enlarged end formed of metal, such enlarged end having been forced radially-inwardly all around the string element end so as to very tightly grip it. A method of making a guitar string, in which the string element end is threaded into a hole in a metal blank. Thereafter, such blank and string element are passed through an extrusion die to make such blank longer and smaller in diameter, to cause such blank to grip the end with great force.

Method of manufacturing guitar strings, and guitar strings resulting

A bi-directional vibrato mechanism for use with a stringed musical instrument is capable of being mounted to an instrument body without the need for providing additional holes or recesses in the instrument body for receiving portions of the mechanism. A front part of the mechanism is attachable to the guitar by two mounting posts and includes bridge type support members for the strings. A rear part is pivotally supported on the front part and anchors the lower ends of the strings. Two sets of springs located entirely above the top surface of the instrument body resiliently resist pivotal movement of the rear part relative to the front part in both pivotal directions away from a normal tuned position.

Bi-directional vibrato mechanism for a guitar

For an electric guitar equipped with a tremolo device, a stabilizer is provided to hold the horizontally extending portion of the actuating arm of the tremolo device in a fixed, but selectively adjustable, vertical position when the device is not being used by the player. The stabilizer is comprised of a retainer component adapted to be semi-permanently or permanently fixed to the top surface of the guitar body and a main component releasably connected with the retainer component to allow the main component to be removed from the retainer component to avoid interference between the stabilizer and a case when the guitar is placed into the case for storage or transport. The main component includes all of an adjustment device for selectively setting the vertical position at which the tremolo arm portion is held so that, barring any resetting of this adjustment device, the horizontally extending portion of the tremolo arm is held by the stabilizer in the same vertical position after reconnection of the main component with the retainer component as before the removal of the main component from the retainer component.
