The present disclosure relates to an integrated circuit connectable to a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) transducer. The MEMS transducer is configured to generate a transducer audio signal in response to sound. The integrated circuit comprises a digital scrambling circuit coupled to a data communication interface. The digital scrambling circuit is configured to convert a digital audio stream, representative of the transducer audio signal, into a corresponding scrambled data stream. The integrated circuit additionally comprises a data bus interface coupled to the digital scrambling circuit and configured to output the scrambled data stream.

A microphone includes a base, a micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) device disposed on the base, and a front end processing apparatus disposed on the base and coupled to the MEMS device, the front end processing apparatus being configured to convert analog signals received from the MEMS device into digital signals. The microphone also includes a DSP apparatus, the DSP apparatus being a digital programmed device with a computer memory, the DSP apparatus configured to process the digital signals received from the front end processing apparatus. The MEMS device, the front end processing apparatus, and DSP apparatus are enclosed within a single microphone enclosure or assembly. During operation the DSP apparatus generates DSP noise. The DSP apparatus includes a noise reduction structure that substantially prevents the DSP noise from reaching or interfering with the operation of the MEMS device or the front end processing apparatus.

A hearing aid includes a transceiver for interconnection of the hearing aid with a wireless network, and a communication controller that is adapted for controlling data exchange through the network in accordance with a network protocol, wherein the controller is further adapted for initialisation of the network in an acquisition mode by controlling the transceiver to transmit interrogation data repetitively, and upon receipt of an interrogation data received message from another device, in a connected mode acting as a master of the network by repetitively transmitting synchronization data at intervals that are longer than the intervals between transmitted interrogation data in the acquisition mode.

Hearing aid wireless network

A method and apparatus are described for a semaphore system based on process events. The system may have multiple processes; one or more shared resources; and a semaphore system corresponding to each of the processes. When multiple processes simultaneously request access to a given shared resource, each semaphore system arbitrates on behalf of its corresponding process. In one embodiment, a semaphore system is self-contained and can arbitrate for its corresponding process based on the other process's events. In another embodiment, the semaphore system interacts with a global arbiter to resolve conflicts.
