A vehicle component including a component body defining an aperture and including an outer textured surface surrounding the aperture on an exterior side of the component body; and a mesh extending over the aperture, a portion of the mesh being molded into at least a portion of the component surrounding the aperture, a surface of the portion of the mesh abutting the outer textured surface surrounding the aperture. A method includes disposing a mesh in a mold shaped for forming the plastic item, a portion of the mesh being disposed on portions of the mold having a textured surface surrounding at least a part of an aperture defining portion, the mesh being disposed in the mold over the aperture defining portion; and filling the mold with plastic, the mesh being molded in a textured surface of the plastic item formed by the textured surface of the mold.

Vehicle component and method for molding a plastic item

An airbox for an air intake system of an engine includes an air inlet for receiving air into the airbox, an air outlet for discharging air from the airbox, and an airbox body defining first and second expansion chambers fluidly connected to one another. The airbox body has a dividing wall separating the first expansion chamber from the second expansion chamber, the dividing wall defining a wall opening fluidly connecting the first and second expansion chambers. An interchangeable flute is removably connected to the airbox body. The interchangeable flute is at least partly disposed in the second expansion chamber and positioned to guide air flowing into the air inlet into the second expansion chamber. The interchangeable flute is removable such that a replacement flute can be installed in its place to selectively modify a noise output of the airbox. Other aspects are also contemplated.

Snowmobile

A side panel for a vehicle having a straddle seat. The side panel has an outer surface and is configured to be connected on a side of the vehicle at least in partlongitudinally forward of the straddle seat and vertically lower than the straddle seat. The outer surface defines a first leg area configured to accommodate at least a portion of a leg of a driver seated on the straddle seat in a first position, and a second leg area configured to accommodate at least a portion of the leg of the driver seated on the straddle seat in a second position. The second leg area is disposed at least in partlongitudinally forward of the first leg area when the side panel is connected on the vehicle. A vehicle having a left and right side panel is also disclosed.

Side panel for a vehicle

A side panel for a vehicle having a straddle seat. The side panel has an outer surface and is configured to be connected on a side of the vehicle at least in part longitudinally forward of the straddle seat and vertically lower than the straddle seat. The outer surface defines a first leg area configured to accommodate at least a portion of a leg of a driver seated on the straddle seat in a first position, and a second leg area configured to accommodate at least a portion of the leg of the driver seated on the straddle seat in a second position. The second leg area is disposed at least in part longitudinally forward of the first leg area when the side panel is connected on the vehicle. A vehicle having a left and right side panel is also disclosed.

A snowmobile has a frame, a tunnel, an endless drive track, at least one ski, an engine, a handlebar being pivotable about a steering axis, a first throttle lever pivotably connected to the handlebar and operatively connected to the engine, the first throttle lever being disposed on a first side of the steering axis, and a second throttle lever pivotably connected to the handlebar and operatively connected to the engine, the second throttle lever being disposed on a second side of the steering axis. A throttle lever assembly is also disclosed.

Throttle lever for a snowmobile

A snowmobile ski has an upturned front portion, a middle portion, and a rear portion. A longitudinally extending rib protrudes from a top of the middle portion and is laterally spaced from a longitudinal centerline of the ski. An aperture is disposed in the longitudinally extending rib for permitting attachment of the ski to a snowmobile. A ramp extends from a first point to at least a second point. The first point is disposed longitudinally between the front portion and the aperture, and closer to the top of the middle portion than the aperture. The second point is disposed longitudinally between the first point and the rear portion, and further away from the top of the middle portion than a lower end of the aperture. The longitudinally extending rib is disposed between the longitudinal centerline and the ramp. A snowmobile having a pair of the above-described skis is also described.

Snowmobile ski

A skag having a rod/elongated rod and rearwardly-angled threaded studs upwardly-extending immovably from the rod. The skag adapted to be connected to the bottom of a snowmobile ski to enhance the steering capabilities the snowmobile ski. The studs being angled with respect to a longitudinal axis of the skag in a direction opposite to that of the forward travel direction of the skag to decrease the shear stress on the weld fixing the stud to the rod and providing a security against installing the skags in the wrong orientation on the bottom of the ski.

A slide rail system of a snowmobile vehicle includes a pair of substantially parallel elongated front slide rails, each front slide rail having a forward end and a rear end, the forward end pivotally connected to a chassis or a front drive axle of the snowmobile. The system also includes a pair of substantially parallel elongated rear slide rails, each rear slide rail having a forward end pivotally connected to the rear end of each front slide rail.
