The latch is of the type comprising a case for the latch mechanism and a keeper which is movable relative to the mechanism. An actuating element for releasing the latch mechanism and the keeper for opening the door is provided. Means are provided for reducing the force exerted on the actuating element by the keeper when opening the latch. The force reducing means comprise a lever which is pivotally mounted in the case and comprises at least one stop recess which cooperates with the actuating element and is pivotally mounted on a first link forming a claw for retaining the keeper in the latched position of the latch. The first link is pivotally mounted on a second link which is pivotally mounted in the case.

Latch for a vehicle door

The device comprises an electric motor having a planar airgap the rotor of which constitutes a flywheel capable of being coupled frictionally with a plate rigid with the shaft of the heat engine to be started. For this purpose, the motor is axially movably mounted in a case between an uncoupled position to which it is biased by a spring and a position in which it is coupled with the plate. The motor is brought to the latter position by the excitation of a clutch coil carried by the rotor and exerting a force of attraction between the rotor and the plate in opposition to the action of the spring. Owing to its small axial overall size, this device requires only a low electric power and may be adapted to mopeds.

Electric inertia-type starter device for a heat engine

The buckle comprises a housing in which there is disposed a support for fixing to a retaining device of the safety belt and a device for locking a bolt member secured to a portion of the safety belt. The locking device is mounted on the support to pivot about a pivot axis and comprises at least one first abutment surface against which the bolt member is retained in the locked position. The first abutment surface is disposed in such manner in the locking device that a force exerted by the belt on the bolt member produces about the pivot axis a torque for releasing the bolt member. The locking device also comprises at least one second abutment surface, a stop member movably mounted in the support and a control member for moving and withdrawing the stop member. The second abutment surface is capable, under the action of said torque, of bearing against the stop member until it is withdrawn by the control member to release the locking device. The direction of movement of the stop member is substantially parallel to the second abutment surface.

Buckle for a safety belt

The retractor comprises a mandrel rotatably mounted on a support and around which the belt is wound. A spring biases the mandrel to rotate it in a direction to wind the belt onto the mandrel. Locking means are combined with the mandrel for preventing rotation of the mandrel. An acceleration detector is associated with the locking means to actuate the latter when the acceleration of the vehicle exceeds a predetermined value. A rocker is freely pivotably suspended from the support and the acceleration detector is carried by the rocker. The center of gravity of the rocker is offset from the axis of rotation of the mandrel.
