The present invention relates to equipment for monitoring the yarn travel on a textile machine, particularly in the shuttle of a weaving loom, comprising a piezoelectrical yarn sensing unit mounted in the shuttle and an electronic receiving circuitry outside the shuttle. The sensing unit transmits yarn travel signals of a frequency which is determined by one of the natural frequencies of the sensing unit, and the electronic receiving circuitry comprises at least one resonant circuit tuned to that natural frequency.

Electronic equipment for monitoring yarn travel on a textile machine

The present invention relates to monitoring devices of the type making use of the principle that frictional contact between two bodies gives rise to electrical charges or voltages on the bodies. The monitoring device of the invention comprises yarn guiding means, at least one signal electrode and at least one ground electrode. Means are provided for generating yarn travel signals exhibiting improved continuity and a high signal-to-noise ratio.
