A device and method for the pre-display of a spot pattern to be applied for a laser treatment of the eye. The spot patterns to be applied are displayed to the operator in advance with the aid of a target beam. The device for the pre-display of a spot pattern to be applied for a laser treatment of the eye includes a laser system and a scanning system for generating a target beam. Here, the laser system and the scanning system for generating the target beam are formed to generate one or more lines which overlie all the spots of the spot pattern of a planned laser treatment. The device and method are suitable for laser treatment of the retina, the trabecular meshwork as well as other regions. Here, it is irrelevant whether what the laser treatment to be applied is.

A device for superimposing parameters and/or image data in the stereoscopic observation path of ophthalmological devices relates to an apparatus for reflecting relevant parameters and/or image data into the stereoscopic observation beam path of ophthalmic devices, for example for therapeutic laser treatments of an eye. The device includes an additional micro-display, which is connected to the control unit, and a beam deflection element for reflecting the parameters and/or image data shown on the micro-display into the stereoscopic observation beam path, which are for example arranged in the parallel beam path. Even though the apparatus is intended for ophthalmic devices for therapeutic laser treatment in the eye, it can also be used, in principle, for ophthalmic devices for examination, diagnosis and surgical interventions.

A method for a minimally invasive, cell-selective laser therapy on the eye. The method, based on a short-pulse laser system, allows for different selective types of therapy on the eye. The method is based on a frequency-doubled, continuously working solid-state laser including a pump source and a control unit. The control unit regulates the pump source such that the solid-state laser emits individual pulses with pulse lengths ranging from 50 ns to continuous, wherein pulse lengths ranging from 50 ns to 50 &#x3bc;s are provided for selective therapies and pulse lengths ranging from 50 &#x3bc;s to continuous are provided for coagulative or stimulating therapies, in particular in the range from 1 ms to 500 ms. The proposed method enables a selective treatment of melanin-containing cells in the different areas of the eye via the targeted control of the pump source.

A laser therapy device includes: a solid-state laser for a CW operation and including a pump source; and a controller for generating at least one first pulse of the laser in a first-pulse operation, the controller switching on the pump source to a pump power level S1 at least once during the first-pulse operation. A rise time E, after which the pump power level S1 of the pump source is attainable and starting from the time the pump source is switched on, is in a range of 50 ns to 350 ns.

Method and apparatus for combined temperature-controlled laser therapy by means of a multifunctional therapy laser

A laser therapy device includes a solid-state laser configured for a CW operation and including a pump source, and a controller configured to generate at least one first pulse of the laser in a first-pulse operation. The controller is configured to switch on the pump source to a pump power level S1 at least once during the first-pulse operation. A rise time E, after which the pump power level S1 of the pump source is attainable and starting from the time the pump source is switched on, is in a range of 50 ns to 350 ns.
