Radiocommunication system for aircraft. The radiocommunication system (S) comprises a single box and, integrated into this single box, at least one single main interface module (), which is formed in such a way as to carry out the processing of the interfaces of all the radiocommunication means (to) of said radiocommunication system (S).

Radiocommunication system for aircraft

A unit includes a glidepath aerial and a support organ designed to be mounted on the front landing gear of an aircraft, with the landing gear forming an electrically conductive ground plane. The aerial is mounted on the support organ and is electrically insulated from this support organ by insulating elements. The support organ has a longitudinal dimension at least equal to around one quarter of the wavelength &#x3bb; at which the aerial functions, so that the distance separating this aerial and the ground plane is greater than &#x3bb;/4, and the aerial also has a transmission line designed to connect the aerial to a receiver in the aircraft. The transmission line is surrounded by an electromagnetic shielding element serving as a faradization screen for the transmission line, and designed to be electrically connected to the ground plane.

This invention relates to an aircraft using such an antenna comprises: a structural element ( ) that is conducting in the operating frequency band of the antenna, with size equal to at least one quarter of the wave length along the polarization direction of the electromagnetic wave for the minimum frequency of this frequency band, and comprising a cutout forming a cavity ( ); a removable exciting element ( ) placed in this cavity that acts as an exciter of this cavity ( ); and a metallization that is electrically conducting at the operating frequencies of the antenna providing metallization between the exciting element ( ) and the structural element ( ).
