The straps connecting the lid of a brief case and the outer panel of an expansible portfolio are adjustably connected to the outer panel through a track and buckle arrangement. The buckle is ordinarily locked in place on the track by a locking element spring urged into engagement with a complementary locking element on the track. A button connected to the buckle locking element allows the user to overcome the force of the spring and slide the buckle along the track to adjust the associated strap. The locking element and the spring are integrally formed components from a unitary molded plastic part which is carried by the buckle casing.

The tidy element, that is designed to be fixed at the inner face of the back wall of the lid of a case, such as an attache-case, is formed of several compartments, generally three compartments, two of which are provided with an elastic hooking strip. The lid of one of the two compartments provided with a lid bears at the inner face another small lid that opens in the opposite sense. The lid of the other of these two compartments bears, at the inner face, parallel and aligned small brackets that form rows of racks designed to support items such as pencils, pens and the like.

Handle device for suitcase of shell type or rigid structure type, equipped with one or more casters or rollers or indeed one or more pairs of casters or rollers, the device being composed in known manner of a fixed component, attached to the transverse side of the suitcase, and of another, opening component, that is to say an element capable of moving away from the perimeter of the suitcase and forming the handle proper, these two components being pivotally mounted with respect to each other, the first and second component are basically constituted of a straight member of channel section (U-section), the first, fixed component having a length considerably less than that of the second, opening component and the member constituting the first component being of a smaller sectional dimension than the member constituting the basic portion of the second component in such a manner as to be capable of being seated therein when the opening component is folded back, the two components being integrally connected to each other, on the one hand the one component being connected inside the other at their ends in a pivoting manner and on the other hand by a tension member forming a brace when the handle is opened, the tension member being mounted and pivotally fixed at the one end to the first component and being free at the other end but constrained to slide and held between the sides of the U-section of the second component, said tension member being forced, both before its maximum angle and before its minimum angle relative to the first, fixed component, to continue its pivoting action relative to the latter component under the effect of a spring strip which is doubly curved in such a manner as to force the opening component or handle to fold down or to maintain the open position beyond a certain minimum angle or maximum angle respectively.

Small object organizer for luggage

A tidy box made entirely of polypropylene consists only of two parts fitted together after moulding. One part, the lower part, forms the base of the box together with a lid provided on one side with a catch or fastening lug and on the other side with a pull handle. The lid is made integral with the base by a polypropylene hinge so that the whole forms a single piece. The other part, the upper part, forms side parts, a top, back and front, the latter forming a fixed frame for the lid without any bottom cross-member, and the top has a notch and retaining edge for co-operating with the lid catch or fastening lug, the whole again forming only a single piece.
